my kitty, still to be named, has dirty ears. im wondering if this means she has mites, or if its normal for them to get dirty sometimes and just need to be cleaned. if so it ll have to wait since she still wont let me touch her. her nails need trimming very badly too, im not sure if this is a health issue or not, im just really surprised that this cat was owned by a vet tech, is 8 or 9 months old she cant remember for sure, and still has not been fixed, has not had a rabies shot, has not had her 3rd round of kitty vaccines (not sure when those are due anyway so maybe thats on track), has dirty ears, and looks like her claws have never been trimmed. still she does appear very healthy. maybe im just overly obsessed with keeping nails trimmed and ears clean.

Ear mites cant be dianosised online... but common site is black specks inthe ears ... Ears do get dirty there are many OTC cleaning solution s for this and I would suggest starting to play with kittys paws if you plan on clipping nails yourself...

it could be earmites or a yeast infection. a yeast infection will have a definite odor. either way, take her to the vet. both are easily treatable.

i have been able to pet her a little more today, and she actually let my youngest daughter pet her a few times. my older daughter is too scared. the cat seems to want to be petted and be affectionate but just scared and out of place. her fur is sooooo soft! makes me wonder if that purina kitten food is doing well for her! she seems so healthy. still switching food though.

likely she is just adjusting ... some animals require low omega fatty acid levals to obtain lovely coats and skin... Mine arent them
