I searched the forum and saw a couple of threads on these already, but none answered the question that I have.

A couple of weeks ago there was a thread with several links for free cat treat items. I sent away for the greenies and got them yesterday. I gave one to Anya earlier and now she has some pretty pungent kitty gas. No problems other than she's just a little stinky. Anyone else had this problem with the greenies? Do they have a specific ingredient that would do this.

She LOVED the treat, but I'm wary or giving her another one.

I actually sent away for them too, and got 2 free pouches (I was surprised that they were a big bag!
) I got the chicken and fish flavored ones - and the boys have gotten a few now since yesterday, and I haven't noticed anything different with them. Harley nor Davidson.
They love them tho!

I got Anya the liver flavored ones. I'll watch her and might try another one later. If she has the same reaction I guess these treats just aren't for her. It would be too bad because these are the first ones she's seemed to enjoy.

Abby also enjoys these treats, and has never had a bad reaction. Of course each kitty does react differently.

ooo I forgot all about that! Mine should be arriving any day now. I have given them to my cats before and never had any problems.

So do cats do better with them than dogs? I know that there have been several dogs who have had digestive problems (a few deadly- mainly because the greenies won't disolve in the digestive tract if too big a piece is eaten).

Catsallover I too am wary of giving my cat's greenies because of the severe digestive problems with dogs

The dog and cat greenies differ. The main problem with the dog greenies seemed to be that many people failed to read the part of the package saying that they weren't for dogs prone to gulping (or to supervise their dogs with them) and many swallowed huge pieces of them whole.

My kitten loooooves the oceanfish flavor greenies. I was a bit weary b/c of the dog greenie thing, but they are made of different ingredients (the dog ones are really rubbery where the cat ones are crunchy).

My Sparkles is very fussy and Feline Greenies is the only thing that works for her. No gas problems either.... maybe it was a one off incident for your cat?

Mine like them but don't go CRAZY for them. Never had a gas problem, but your kitty could be sensitive to something in them. I wonder how good they really are for the teeth.. as in the benefits. I think a few of my kitties swallow them whole. I did got the free sample pack awhile ago, then got a invite via email to get another free bag, and they sent me a ton of coupons, including one for another free bag. In all that I got a free coupon for feline hip chips, which I'm gong to try sometime soon.. I haven't been feeding real treats that much lately since I've been working on socializing Suzie I've been using whiskas dry for treats since I got a free bag through them somehow.

Two of mine love them the other two just look at me to say 'you really think we are eating that'
I have never had any 'gassy' problems with them eating them and to be honest, she should be fine with just one or two treats, so perhaps it is something else?

My cats won't touch the things, I don't know why. But we have one cat that gets stinky gas when he tries ANYTHING new - I think their digestive systems can vary so much.
