My 8-weeks kittie is very sweet and loves to be around people - since she spends the day alone while I work.

Now, everyday, at some point, I may be playing with her, and suddenly she starts to grab me really hard w/her paws and bites me w/her needle-teeth (and pulls her ears backwards). Now people keep asking me if something happenned to me in my hands- they're all scratched!!!

I learned in this site about the water squirt BUT I would need to glue the water bottle to my hand! Any suggestions??

Cristina, I am far from an expert in cat behavior, but my first suggestion would be to watch for signs from your little cutie that she is taking the play a little more seriously than you are. watch for signs like a thumping or swishing tail, ears pulled back or any vocalization. When you see these signs take it as a warning that maybe its time to back off from what you see as play. Also, when my cats have bitten me playfully, or when I haven`t read the signs well I usually make a loud OWWWWWWWWW sound. If you watch 2 kitties at play that is pretty much the sound they make when they have had enough, or when the other is getting too rough. Usually a cat will ease up when the other one protests, and when I make that sound my cats have always eased up, too.

It is best to get her used to the feather teasers and such now. When she goes for your hand, say a firm no and then pull out the teaser. This way the play gets taken out on the toy.
