Pregnant Cat

Hi all. i am new here, so please be nice.. LOL Anyway i noticed my calico female cats nipples around beginning of July . They were PINK, so i knew she was prego, anyway she has started to get fat around that time also. Anyway i dont know when she matted, and i dont know when she is due. She is always cleaning herself, paws, tummy, tail, legs, ect.. She is always wanting to sleep, VERY EFFECTIONATE with me, When i feel and rub her tummy under neath i feel lumps right down below? Dose that mean she is going to be having her kittens soon. In the beginning of this week, she has started to nest in my closet, but nothing since.. When will i know she is ready?

Hi! Sounds like she's close-ish. You begin to feel movement a little while before birth. There is tons of info in this forum, look through some of it and you'll figure out more than you ever wnated to know about baby cats.

I'm not sure about the poll you have, so I didn't answer it. I guess I'm confused.

Make sure to keep her inside until she is spayed!

well thank you, i am new at this and to be honest i am kinda excited.... i cant wait till i see her babies... But i do see movements, and she wants to go oustide, to got to the washroom, but i have a litter box, but she refuses to use it due to the fact she was always an outside cat... I heard that cats usally go into labour in the evening.. ?? is that true? Also she is always cleaning herself? Her paws and her body! And always rubbing up to me. But she runs when my lil boy runs up. Any sugestions, on when i will know when she is going into labour? Besides body temp... I dont have a thermoter for her... But what are the other signs? She is always sleeping... And she is starting to meaow here and ther, but not that much.

hi i read a great thread this morning called skittles had babies by momof3rugratz there is even several videos of the birth i feel so much more prepared now.

Please do not let her outdoors again....not only because she could have her kittens outdoors but because she could become pregnant again as early as a couple of days after giving birth. I can understand you are excited about your cat having kittens...but we want this to be her only litter. I would really recommend reading this thread:

which gives information on what to look for regarding labor signs. I would set her up with a nesting box, food and if she does not like a litterbox because she is used to going outdoors...I would use a very low pan with potting soil in it (you can buy potting soil at a garden supply store) and then slowly add litter and remove the soil.

Again...keep her indoors only with no access to intact males or the outdoors.

yes for sure i will NOT let her back outside. Once she is done with this Birth i will be having her spayed!!! Well she still hasnt had any kittens???
