Question about behavior in late pregnancy

Hi, everyone.

We adopted a stray, and while we were waiting to see if she was spayed, she went in heat. The same night, she ripped out a screen and was gone for five days. She has not gone in heat since then. That was May 31-June 4. I assumed she was pregnant, and since our entire family inundated us with "I want a kitten" pleas, we decided to let her have them and then spay her and the whole litter before rehoming them. (Unfortunately, I think they think the kittens will look like her, and the chances of that are slim based on my limited knowledge of cat genetics.)

Anyway, she is normally a tiny, thin cat, and now she has a definite tummy, though if a stranger saw her, they might think it was normal. Today, she started acting like she's going in heat, though. Very affectionate, rubbing herself on everything, tush in the air when you touch her. No yowling...but she's very needy. This is not her normal personality. She's fairly aloof normally. She had a tiny amount of clear slippery discharge earlier today, but it had no odor and she quickly got rid of it.

So...is this normal late pregnancy behavior, or is she likely just gaining weight for some other reason, and is going in heat? I'm nervous about this...I've assisted in dog deliveries and c-sections, but never cats, and never on my own.

Maybe...I hope. She's acting so similar to being in heat that I'm starting to wonder. But the timing is right, and it would be odd to go two months without a heat cycle if she wasn't pregnant...Unless she was, and isn't now. She's walking around the house "talking." I think she'd be a little early...54-58 days.

My other female, who is spayed, is normally very affectionate--doglike, even--and she's been really testy all day. The whole house is going crazy!
