I have a 1 year old cat and a 10 week old kitten. My 1 year old has his own litter box and only uses it when we are out of town (he goes outside the other times). I have always used Tidy Cats clumping litter. It gets the job done, but I have been reading about the Crystal cat litter.

I just want people's opinions on if it is worth the money or not. I don't mind cleaning out the cat box everyday. I would just like better odor control.

Also, is it usually a problem to get your cat used to the different kind of litter?

I personally do not like any litter in which you have to leave all the pee in the box until you dump the whole thing, but I know I might be in the minority.

Crystals also hurt my feet, I can't imagine how they feel to cats.

One thing to be careful with though is that some little kittens eat litter, and this can be dangerous with some types of clumping litter because it clogs up their GI.

I am also not a big fan of anything I can't 'get rid of liquid waste' from.

Cats can be fussy little creatures (as we all well know) and some will just not take to certain litters, if this is the case, don't try and force something you think is better on them as they may develop bad habits and not use the box at all.

I use Worlds Best Cat Litter as it is made from corn and so safe if they do ingest some (and all cats do while cleaning themselves!)
