Do you "talk" to your kitties? - Page 2

I talk to Harley all the time

Every morning we have our little conversations (one sided of course )

I always tell him to keep an eye on Davidson, and to be nice to him, he's only a baby!
And that he's my favorite kitty in the whole wide world, and not to let Davidson know, cuz I love him too, but Harley's my #1 favorite cuddle bug!

And I tell Davidson to be a good little kitty, bad kitties don't get treats

Oh and I do the same as you do Brandi, when John is being a pest, I tell them both to ignore daddy, cuz he's a meanie!

John just rolls his eyes like I'm crazy.... but I tell him that they understand.... just watch out

I talk to them probably more then I should
Tiger is Tiger-Bomb and Tiggers
Reilly is ReillyGirl and Reilly Cat..

Tiger and I have convo's every morning by the coffee pot. His momma (Dixie) was a chatter and he gets it honest
My DH often asks me "Who are you talking to" in the mornings and then he hears Tiger chirping back and Dh just laughs at us but it wouldn't be a good morning w/o talking w/Tiger

Ansel is Ansel Wansel....and I always ask him, "how is mama's little boy doing?" even though he's 8 years old. I also ask him, "why does him tee tee all over the house?" I keep waiting for an answer from him on that one, but he's not giving it.

Zan is Zanny Wanny and Zanny girl.

Bella is just "mama's little girl" since she is the baby. Bella Wella just doesn't sound right.

I'm kind of embarrassed to share my conversations and songs to my kitties, because there are real words and made up words in my little conversations.

Simba: "Simby Zuly, my Wick ta Ruly
I Love my Simby, love my Simby
He is my Simby boy"
Another one for Simba (His special song) to the meoldy of Dream a Little Dream of me:
"He's won my heart completely,
I can't help it, I love my little Simby
He's as Precious as a Pookie can be,
My Precious little Simba Zuly"

Shane: To the melody of Changes, by David Bowie
"Cha Cha Cha, Chaa,Ta Chane Da Bund
Ta Chaney Ta Chaney Da Bunda"

SunLee: "Mea Lee Lee" Which means Miss Lee Lee

Angel: "Puss, puss, puss Ta Diddy
She's my Angel, Kitty"

Imagining all these things being said to all these cats had me laughing so hard .....

Easy always wants me to chase her she'll come and say " meow" and start running ... so I run after her ....she jiggles her butt while she runs .... I call her sassy butt (but the uncensored version).

Kiko is a HUGE cry baby. He cant stand it when I interact with any human. If Im on the phone, hes constantly crying if I have company hes constantly crying. So I call him cry baby and he cries.I can go on and on about him.

I call Ducky doo doo and doo doo butt. Tino is teen bean teen butt teenie beanie the big meanie why you have to be so cleanie. Laura is my peenie poo. I have so many names for them all.... and its baby talk sound. When I talk about them in my normal voice they dont even notice but when I talk to them in baby talk, they know exactly.

Astrid Ray is my bun-bun, honey bun, princess pretty paws and sometimes little miss crankypants! I talk to her constantly and I live alone so...

I have told me co-workers to let me know if they hear me at work talking to myself since I am now so used to just saying whatever I want around the cat. Thinking of course that she is listening - ha! When I had a guest over last weekend she was disgusted and amazed at the voices I use and what I was saying. But I can't help it! Astrid looks at me like I am nuts too.

I talk to my kitties all the time. Scooter aka Poot, is my most vocal. I ask him "what is my Pootster baby doing?" and he will usually make his funny little "feed meeeeee" noise, even if I have just fed him.
Fred used to like me to sing to him. I would hold him and dance with him while I warmed up for the karaoke contests I used to participate in most weekends. He would wrap his little paws around my neck, lay his head down and purr.

Oh, yeah, talk, sing, argue...

We've had some real talkers in the past. Mom could be heard every morning making coffee and conversing with one of our cats.

Tom Tinker, however, could say words! Drove the next door neighbor nuts.

LOL...thats a popular one in our house too!!

I talk to the babies all the time. When I walk past them I ask them if they are ok? Mark and I have a stupid voice we talk to them in, our friends and families call us losers
The other day when we booked our holiday to Portugal (going on Monday) I sat down with them and told them Mummy and Daddy were going away and they would be going to Grandma's house, and they really like there don't they and that we will be coming back for them, I actually promised that. Doesn't make me feel any better about leaving them though...
I swear they understand me at times, esp Sleeves, if he were human he would be the perfect man.

LOL.....
i talk to them
and i answer back on their behalf too!

and on occassion i do a little dance for them but i have a feeling that's a whole other thread.

Okay so I work in a daycare so this doesn't sound so bad but if you have ever heard of the show Out of the Box for little kids....

I sing like the theme song:

Oscar the grouch *clap clap* Oscar the grouch

I know....SO weird

Oh and I sing: Oscar the grouchy cat, the grouchiest cat I know

tuna tuna tuna
eat it up YUM!
gonna have sum tuna
cuz its lotsa fun!...
etc.

(repeat til the final snap of the lid & dinner is served)

Oh yeah, I talk to all of them, including Casper, who's deaf.

Scratch's name is hardly uttered in our house. I usually call her Kitty, Kitters, Kitter-witters, Stinky, etc. etc.
I also sing to Scratch all the time. I usually just make up songs as I'm playing with her, so I don't remember any. They're really goofy, though!

Oh, I knew the cat-talk thing would come up someday.

I call Fergus "Fergi", as that is plural. You know, fungus, being fungi? I know, I know. And then I sing to him in my best chubby French baker voice:

"Est ce qui l'a un petit chatty, un petit chatty, un chatty, est ce qui l'a un petit chatty, un petit chat-ty."

("Is he a little cat, a little cat, a little cat, is he a little cat, a little cat?") He likes this. A LOT. The problem is, is that he isn't a little cat...he's 18 lbs. Haha!

I like to ask Ripley questions:

"Ripoli, are you from the land of Tripoli?"

OR

"Ripley...are you feeling a tad nippley?"

OR

"There's the Ripple. She's prettier than a pin-up's n*pple."

Captain Steuben gets some talking too.

"Steuben...is your favorite sandwich a reuben? Are your favorite cigars Cuban? Are you a naughty nanny? A naughty, naughty, nanny?"

Ugh. There's mine. Poor kitties.
