I used to freecycle all the time. I've gotten a coffee table, two filing cabinets, a ton of boxes for my latest move... and probably a few other things I can't think of right now. Oh right right.. I got a bike too.

I also gave away about a houseload of crap I didn't need. I had all my closets cleaned out in a matter of two or three days. I know my mother has given away a couch in the freecycle in her area. It's been great so far!

Rob does all the time. I haven't bothered to sign up, because whenever I have something to offer I just get him to post it, and if he sees a post that might interest me, he passes it along. Got rid of a bunch of glassware a while ago. And some ancient cellphones. And a DVD player. And God alone knows what else. It's a great concept.

I love freecycle! I got a perfectly good baby gate not long ago which I was getting ready to purchase for over $50!! The only thing I don't like about it is that in my area at least, there are tons of "free to a good home ads" for animals *sigh*

They used to have those in my area all the time, but a lot of the freecycle chapters are now banding together to ban those ads. Maybe your area will join in too.

I just joined within the past month, so I haven't gotten anything, nor offered up anything, but I like seeing what people have. Our chapter doesn't allow free to good home ad's either.

Gaye, we had a load of them recently, so I emailed the Admin and they sent out a reminder that Freecycle is to help prevent unnecessary land fill.

It might be the case that they require more mods too - ours just sent out a wanted ad for mods to help keep these in check!

I got three large barrels from freecycle for my strawberries and trailing tomatoes! I also gave away my car mats!

DH discovered this site for us. A couple of weeks ago he picked up a free scanner (still haven't hooked it up though
).
I think it's a fantastic idea!
