I have a stray that has been outside since I've had her. I can't bring her in because of my dog so she had her kittens outside. She had them by my neighbors house, very close to their backyard where 10 dogs are housed. I tried to move them a couple of days ago to our porch and she just moved them back over there. They are about a week old now, eyes open and they are starting to walk I am concerned that without my watch they will wander into the wrong place. Does anyone know how I can get my cat to let me keep the kittens in our yard? But I don't want to upset her, does anyone have any suggestions?

Hmm if she's a first time mother its a little easier to let her accept you as the kitties guardian and let you help with them. If she isn't they can be tough since she thinks she is doing best to protect them. If the neighbor has alot of dogs i'd get her kittens out of there asap.

Dogs make snacks out of kittens it may sound wrong but it happens alot. So if you can possible put the kittens in a kennel "with" the mother just to keep her confined. Also maybe build a special play pen just a few things i did with Krizzma, Smore & cookie.

Moving her to another outdoors location is not recommended as she will still be subject to being hurt and she can become pregnant again as early as a week after giving birth. Is she friendly?? If so, you may want to check throughout your neighborhood and see if someone would be willing to foster her and her kittens until the kittens can be weaned and she can be spayed. If you believe she is in immediate danger..then contact some local rescue groups and see if anyone can possibly foster her.
