My cat who is due any day now is shedding alot. Reading some other forums here I read about nutrition. I got her various kinds of kitten food (wet and dry) from the pet store. PACA cat rescue has a room there and they gave me some advice re the food. She really doesn't like it all that much and will eat the other cat food first. I can't afford to feed ALL the cats the higher priced kitten food! So I give them their usual stuff.
Anyway, what I'm getting to is could she just be shedding due to PG strees? Or should I get her some vitamins to help her out?

Do a slow transition (mixing together) to the kitten food. Cats don't like sudden changes. You can feed baby food (protein source only like turkey or chicken, no veggies and NO onion) as a great calorie booster. I think as a general vitamin Missing Link isn't to bad for a dry/wet diet. It helps the coat a lot but not sure during pregnancy. Things that are rich in Omega-3's will help the coat. Try mixing in some canned salmon for that extra omega fatty acids. My cats get a 50% canned salmon as part of their diet including my pregnant girl. Very healthy. If she is not used to it though it can cause diarreah as anything sudden can. Slow introductions are beneficial.
