I know the babies are in individual sacs, but is there also one sac encompassing them all? Like with humans, does their 'water break'?
ALso IF she doesn't cut the cord (for whatever reason) and we have to do it and tie it off, what happens? Will it fall off by itself?

I know human babies---I DON'T know cat babies!!

The uterus is comprised of 2 horn branches. The kittens are in one horn or the other. Each has their own sac. Often the sac will break which will cause some fluids and blood. The sacs can come out seperately from the kittens so you have to count the sacs and kittens to make sure they match up (sometimes 2 kittens will come and then 2 placentas, as long as they all come out at some point). You will need to sever the cord from the placenta some way. Its unlikely mom won't do that as she will want to eat the placenta. You cut the cord about an inch from the body and that last little bit will fall off eventually just like a human baby.
