I had a minor melt down last night. Basicly when I got into the new appartment in the day light I could see what a pig the guy before me was. I threw out a bag of crap he left behind, including dirty silverware in the sink & his toilet bowl brush. (NASTY
) Then I had to scrub every hard surface in the place & I swear the guy never vaccumed the floors the whole time he lived there. It's beautiful now, but I had a minor melt down around hour 4 of cleaning & started thinking about how I'm going to have to set things up differntly & what if I went through all this work & didn't like the new appartment. I called my sister & as I was leaving a message I started crying
I think I'm exhausted & stressed. I've got to chill out because Jorand & Isaac sort of had a tiff this morning & I think my stress is stressing them out which is not good. OK just had to vent for a second.

Vent away - any kind of change on this level is stressful. And after the vent, do some cuddling.

Moving in itself is stressful, add moving in to Pigpens apartment and it takes that stress to another level.
I used to have to clean my dads apartments when people moved out it was disgusting! Hang in there!!!

an ice cube in Iowa...
Having to clean like you just did would have made me HOSTILE!!!! Ugh...what kind of landlord lets a new tenant move into that level of filth? If I were you, I'd ask him.

Well, congrats on the new apartment. Happy unpacking!

Just think, now you know that the apartment is *really* clean since you did it yourself. I would have done sme heavy duty cleaning before I moved in anyways. But it does suck to have to clean up the mess slobzilla left behind.

Nuh uh...might give me away!
Is it rare anymore for people to clean before they move out of an apartment? Even thought it wasn't "required" I generally made sure that iron deposits in the tub/shower and toilet were cleaned and scrubbed, and the floor vacuumed. That's MINIMUM.

I know the majority of places around here tend to hire a cleaning crew and painting crew before new tenants move in, but I still clean.
