I bought a couple of cans of Pet Gold while shopping at Petco to try with my finicky girls and for once in a long time, they cleaned their bowl! I tried the chicken and liver flavor. I'm assuming this is a Petco store brand as I don't see it sold on other online pet food sites.

Anyone use this brand and have any opinions on this food? By looking at the ingredients, it looks decent. I don't see any meat by-products. I have tried almost every other higher quality food with them. They'll eat a little and leave the rest or flat refuse to touch it.
But they seem to like Pet Gold, so I'm thinking of continuing with this brand for a while. Any opinions??

Thanks!

If you can afford it , Id say go for it. Obviously with me still feeding Friskies, I cant knock it.
They get Nutro and walmarts dry...and Friskies wet.
But I do get that one you are referring to, every once in a while, they have wonderful seafood ones..
Not sure if they are "healthy" , but they seem to go all out when it comes to ingredients...
I usually get them when I have someone being picky..Or mixing medicine, to make sure that they will eat it!!
So yes , mine do atleast love it..Not sure about the healthiness of it though

My crew tends to yuk up everything except the Indoor Formula dry. As far as wet, they like the new little gold buckets by Meow Mix.

I've never bought the Pet Gold, although I know I've looked at it....can't remember what my hang-up was on that. One thing I bought at Petco was Triumph pouches. I got them on sale for under 36 cents each. The only ingredient I didn't like was "animal liver" as opposed to a named liver. But I figured for the price, it was worth it! Triumph, I believe, is a Petco brand as well.

At any rate, if your cats will eat it, it's better than something they won't eat. My cats didn't like the Felidae or Merrick cans, but they REALLY like Wellness. I've never bought any "cheap" canned food for them so I can't say much about any of that.

I've only fed their seafood varieties, they have some with lobster sauce, calamari...decent ingredients list and good for tempting an off appetite in a kitty.

While on the topic of pet gold...it isn't by chance chunks or shredded, is it? Pate style is a no go for my girls & I guess I'd try anything shredded or chunky.

The seafood ones that I tried, with lobster sauce, calamari, were chunks of sea food in a sauce.

I only tried the chicken and liver and it was pate. Normally mine won't eat much of the pate either, but this one they did. I haven't tried the other flavors yet, but since this one met with their "approval"
I'm going to try the other flavors. But I have noticed in the past that they don't care much for fish flavors...again, narrowing my choices. I'm not sure my girls are normal....don't most cats love fish?? LOL But I haven't tried this brand's fish flavor, so who knows!
