on friday i am adopting an 8 1/2 month old cat. she knows her name and comes when called but i really do not care for the name she has right now. if i change her name will she learn the new one? thanks )

Sure she will, but you'll have to keep using it and most especially put the right tone in your voice to suit the situation, i.e. when it's feeding time, raise your voice higher and sound happy, etc. etc.

oops, apparently i misunderstood, the cat doesnt come when you call her name, she comes when you call "here kitty kitty kitty" hehehe. well i think i could teach her to come to her name though, her present owners never tried.
