I do a mix of wet and dry food for my cats. They get Felidae for dry and go through about a cup a day between the 3 of them (one is a kitten, Felidae is all life stages).
Well I was at the little pet store that I buy pet food at, and he had 14oz cans of Wysong Canine/Feline food for $1.99. It says it can be fed to both dogs and cats. The ingredient list is chicken, water for processing, chicken liver, and animal plasma. It smells alright, you can smell the liver but it's not stinky. Gizmo turned her nose up at it the first night but ate it last night. The other two loved it right away and about tripped me three times while I was trying to dish it up for them last night.
The only thing that made me think for a second was "animal" plasma instead of chicken or whatever, but then I thought "Well, blood is blood, pretty much." So I don't think that would be an issue.
I looked at the Wysong website and while I don't particularly care for thier attitude, I think this is a good food.
I'm not concerned about not having taurine added to it because there's taurine in the Felidae dry that they eat, plus I imagine that being that htey are using chicken and chicken liver as the main ingredients, it's probably there naturally. Although I don't know if it can survive cooking or not.

Has anyone else used this before? It's pretty cost effective for me, a 14 oz can had enough for two feedings plus half a feeding.

Hello
I would read the can if it says for supplemental feeding only then it doesnt have all of the kitties needs but the dry would( tongue in cheek) .... If it says 100% complete then all the nutrients have to be in there at the right levals..

I used the au jus by them with great results with a raw transition and as a back up can

If it's the "Au Jus" cans, then it's not 100% complete and shouldn't make up their entire diet, but it's alright as an addition to an already complete diet. I do like the Au Jus All Meat cans as you know there isn't ANYTHING in there that a cat wouldn't eat. Unfortunatley, I tried them on my kitties when we were doing the raw switch and they both got really bad poops

It's the au jus. It says intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only. Which is what I'm doing. They get thier Felidae dry food every day. There's almost always some dry out, since they quit overeating after I added wet food to thier diet. Gizmo used to eat over 2 cups a day by herself. Piggie girl! My intent on the wet food is to keep them more hydrated so we don't get urinary issues again.
