Really! What are some people thinking! I can't believe that poor bird had to suffer such a horrible death. One day humans will be charged with murder for killing an animal!

There really isn't an ounce of sense in that woman. What on earth was she doing bringing a cockatoo to sit in the car while she went to a movie!!! I cannot think of a single good reason for it. Not one.

I hope they throw the book at her.

That poor bird

How stupid can people be

also in cases like this there is a legitimate reason for any member of the public to smash the car window and take the animal out.

I believe the spca/and rspca use the reason...'To prevent a crime of animal cruelty ' or something along those lines and they have no more powers than any ordinary person.

People have been known to leave babies and small children locked in sweltering cars, so this doesn't surprise me. Whenever I'm totally fed up with my husband, and ready to walk out the door, I remember the time I came home to find a strange German Shepherd in our house, and his saying, "The police will probably come and arrest me any minute!" He spotted the dog in a hot and locked car, thought he was going to die of heat prostration any minute, and picked up a metal trash can, smashed a car window, got the dog out, left a note, and brought him home! When I got home, he'd given him plenty of water and wetted him down. Luckily, the owner, totally frantic, called and then came, and was really grateful that my husband had done that. He hadn't thought it was "that hot".

WHy would you go to a MOVIE when your pet is in the car. keep them at home if you are going to do that! It makes me so mad when I see people go in a store with their dog in the car. Would you do that to a child!! NO!!!!

Does he have a brother??

I am surprised how many people are still idiots when it comes to leaving pets/children in the car in the heat...

does he?

But why on earth would someone bring their bird along for a car ride. I wonder if it was in a cage en route to somewhere else. I understand taking you dogs on rides with you (not leaving them in the car) and yes, I've even taken a cat on a joy ride...but a bird?

Some lady had her dog in her suv when I was leaving the post office today. It was a good thing she followed me out and that I have no idea how long she was in there (just droping stuff in the box...but there is a drive up one for that!) or I'd really have had to say something! Stupid people! Stupid stupid stupid!

What kind of idiot leaves a bird in a car in the middle of the summer??? Better yet, what kind of idiot leaves children in a car in the middle of summer? That is just horrible! Poor bird. Some people really need some sense slapped into them. I hope she gets penalized for this.

Why would you bring your bird to the movies?? What a weirdo.

RIP little birdy..fly happily and peacefully.

On the news last night was something similar. A woman saw a dog in the car at Kohl's and went in and told the store, security came out and decided the dog was okay so far and they'd keep an eye out, since they didn't know how long it had been (it was later in the evening).
The woman came back out and broke into the car and drove off with the puppy, not leaving a note or anything.

Now the cops are looking for her to find out if she stole it or was trying to help it.

I can't find a story on it but it was just yesterday!

What a moron!! I still wonder why she even had it with her in the first place?
I mean really......

Idiot. That's all I have to say. How horrible.

I hope that one day people are charged equally for the murder of animals as they are for the murder of people. There's too many animals dying for stupid reasons.

Stories like this disgust me but unfourtuanatley they happen quite often...and not just with pets. A couple of weeks ago a woman left her 90 year old mother in the car while she ran errands, the poor old woman needed to be place in critical care!

Poor little bird, may he fly peacefully at RB.
