Grrr... is all I have to say. He has been reroofing the garage for several weeks now. Which He doesnt have a permit for (and i am 99% sure he needs one) And instead of getting a dumpster the man has strewn all the stuff from the roof all over infront of the garage, a few days ago i put a nail through my foot, from some of the stuff he has on the ground. We called and notified him, as well as having my hospital paperwork..no reply.

And now today I went to put my dogs outside in their kennel, and hanging from my Dog kennel and all over the front of my kennel (i havent gone down to look inside it yet but i am sure there is stuff in it too. hes here right now and i am afraid i will end up bawling him out. if i go down there) I am just LIVID
hes treating our stuff that we paid for, that he TOLD US to MOVE to its current place btw. like nothing. I mean with those shingles hanging off my kennel..and this is where my dogs go to spend time..because what fence we do have around the yard is in disrepair. GRRRR..

Oh my!!! That sounds crazy! If I were you I would be threatening a lawyer to get the hospital bill paid and the crap out of your yard. It's totally his fault, and through negligence none the less.
I'm sorry you have to deal with that. I'd have half a mind to clean it up myself just because I'd be so
and leave it all in the office or something.

And is he doing the roof himself, or is it a hired company?

Take pictures of your foot, whether you intend to take him to small claims court or not. It's just good to have.

I would be making him pay the medical bill for sure. I am sure he needs a permit. He is doing the roofing himself? I sure hope he doesn't create any leaks.

Yes he is doing the roofing himself. Hes doing a Bang up job too.. Stinks.

We live in a house, so theres no office or i would clean it up and pile it on his mess and dump it in his office, LOL

He just left i heard his motorcycle. so i am about to go look and see if he removed his stuff from my dog kennel.

If not. My mom is coming over tonight, and we are taking pics of his mess, my foot, and we are reporting him to the houseing authority. and i plan on making him pay my medical bill.

Thank goodness i am up to date on my tet shot.

oh yeah and in the mean time my dogs have no where to go for play.

In Wisconsin you don't need a permit to re=roof but that isn't a job that would take more than a week!!! We had a dumpster when we re-shingled but still found lots of nails and bits of shingles all over the place. I agree he should have to pay for you medical bills for stepping on a nail ( I did that when we tore down our other garage-painful!!)
What a careless person!!

Yup steve called him, and he didnt care. His excuse for the stuff in the dog kennel...was that there was poo in there. Which i know there wasnt because i cleaned it this morning after the dogs were out. He didnt care and got snotty with steve...

So my mom came over and took pictures of what looks like a diaster zone. And i called the City, he DOES have to have a permit for re roofing. And the building inspector will be out tommrow. so i hope he gets slapped with a big fat fine.

Wait.... he said it was okay to throw dangerous roofing materials in your dog kennel because there was poop in it? I don't think that would make sense even if I were on drugs. Your landlord sounds like a real winner

I'm glad you're doing something! The hole in my foot would have been the last straw for me too!

yeah thats why he said it was ok. Hes a looser. but there WAS no Poo in it. we clean it out. ALOT. he just likes making stories up. cause hes a jerk. the kennel had been where it was for almost a year, and than he wanted it moved. what a dip.

Well funny enough the hole in my foot didnt bother me as much as the stuff in my kennel. That Ticked me off.

I hope he falls off the stupid roof. hmf.

at least hes gonna get slapped with a big pretty fine. or whatever they do, lol

If you are not renewing the lease, I would let the landlord have it.

If you are renewing the lease, however......I would just keep quiet lest he raises the rent by 50% in an attempt to throw you guys out.

There are a lot of things my landlord did last year (letting the septic tank flood my livingroom carpet, for example) that just made me livid. I kept quiet and unleashed my fury at my landlord when they tried to renew my lease. I got them to lower the rent from $450 a month to $375 a month. I saved $1800 because I signed a 2-year-lease.

On top of that, they can't do anything to my cats now because I am grandfathered in.

Our lease was 6 months, and now its month to month. we plan on moving soon as the little babies get bigger and to their new homes. We are gonna leave well enough alone for now. I feel i did good by calling the building inspector on him there i another woman who lives here, below us so he can think whatever he wants I know he dont have a permit. I think he should have to pay my medical bill though. my er trip because of the nail through my foot wasnt fun or cheap.

Plus throwing all that crap into your kennel, there could be nails on the ground now or something. Just be careful when you put your dogs back in there so they don't step on anything.

I hope things work out for the best. Like they say pics are worth a million words. And if a judge sees the pic of the you booboo, and the mess, and the no permit. I think you will be granted the money for you hospital bill. If you find out he doesn't have a permit find out a way, to get proof him not having the permit, so you can take that with you to court if you choose to go.

And just cause there was "supposed poo" in the cage gives him no right to do what he did, one of your dogs could of stepped on a nail. Or even ate one. What a jerk.

Hope things get worked out. Crossing fingers for you.

Yup, i can get a copy of what happens when they bring action against him for not having a permit.

And yeah steve couldnt belive his comment abou the "supposed poo" i mean seriously how hard would it have been to toss the stuff on the other side of the kennel. NOT VERY its not a huge kennel. But we had to get it because he refuses to fix the fence. And i cant be outside as much as my babies want to supervise them.

Take your story to your local news station. In memphis- they have a special nightly report about bad landlords- it forces them to clean up their act and get the proper permits and lisences. Also, report him to the Better Business Buero.
