A little upset!

OK you all know that on Thursday I found out the job I was training for ended up being telemarketing.
Well I quit and let them know I was unhappy that they decieved me that way. They said that they would mail me my check... The check was "supposedly" sent out on Friday.. It's tuesday and nothing yet.
I know it shouldn't take long at all because they are literally 6 blocks from me
I just called them and they said "oh we mailed it out on Friday so you should have it" I told her "no, I haven't recieved it yet" She tells me "Give it until THIS friday and call us" I let her know that it should be here by now because I'm only 6 blocks away and for thier sake they better PRAY I get it by Friday!
Because of some insane policy they have you're not allowed to go into thier office to get the check if you quit or are fired..
Probably because people have found out they are a scam and will come in and let them have it!

Thats what I think anyways...

I would react the same way!! If you don't get it by Friday, you need to make a complaint. That is ridiculous that it is taking that long. I guess they figure it's not as important since you don't work there anymore.

Well I am wondering if they sent it out at all.
I think it's ridiculous that it would take a week.
I can mail something to my mom who is in the same town but further away and it will be there withen 2 days. I know because we have mailed letters to "santa claus" from the boys to my dad

It sounds like they are just jerking your chain... it's not the mail system that is taking long, it's their "system" they have to go through. When I used to be a boss, there were certain things you have to do when someone leaves, like go into the pc and change their employee profile to T for terminated, and then have the appropriate paperwork sent in to HR before their final paycheck could be cut because any accrued vac/sick pay had to be added in. Now I know you were only working for them for like 1 day... but it might be the same stinkin procedure that's holding it up for you.... Did you talk to the person who interviewed/hired you about their misrepresentation? That is what would burn me up the most... having to fill out all the new hire paperwork, only to be duped!!!

It sounds like they are stalling to me too! Keep after them!

Actually I was there for 2 weeks going through training!
I did talk to HR who hired the 5 of us about it and her response to me asking why we were mislead was "just stick with it and I promise there's room for advancement"

Sometimes in town mail does take a few days. You should get it by Friday for sure though. Don't worry

What else sucks is I should get another check this friday for last week and it's gonna take another week to come to me

I would lodge a complaint with your local chamber of comerence an d the better business bureau.

I agree so others don't get duped like you have.

That totally stinks!!!

To me, a place of employment that has to hide their telemarketing department from the world is no place to work. If they lied to you about the job, chances are they're lying to you about the check.

I would wait until Friday and give the Labor Bureau a call. Why I say Friday is that I've had pieces of mail that get stuck at the post office when they're right around the corner from me. The mail system is efficient, but not always on time.

I hate them!
