I want to share with you an email that my sis in law sent me about her and my brothers vacation in Maine..........I WANT TO GO TO MAINE NOW! It's my kind of vacation!

"Hey howdy!!!!!! It was absolutely spectacular!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a trip you guys definitely need to make some day. The coast of Maine is absolutely breathtaking. And Acadia was wonderful. We took 2 rolls of film and I hope they all come out. Some days it was very foggy. You can see the fog literally rolling in over the bay. We did a whale watch and yes we saw quite a few whales. They did that thing where their tails come out of the water and you can see the flukes when they dive. Talk about a beautiful sight. Then they took us past where puffins nest and we saw quite a few of those. We also went on a nature cruise and saw lots of harbor seals and several bald eagles. That one took us past Egg Rock lighthouse and we got pictures of that (in the fog of course). We took a sailboat ride one afternoon on a boatl called the Margaret Todd. It was neat because they asked for volunteers to help raise the sails.(which it had 4). Quite a production. We had a lobster dinner…..whole lobster. We had to ask the waitress what to do having never done this ourselves. And it was delicious!!!!!!!!!! I wasnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t sure how Iâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]d like lobster but it was worth it. Bar Harbor has an absolutely picturesque downtown, lots of little shops and restaurants right on the waterfront. It truly looks like a post card that Norman Rockwell would paint. Thersâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s all kind of boats out in the harbor and tons of buoys that mark the lobster traps. One day we drove down to Bass Harbor and saw the lighthouse there…….had to climb out on the rocks to do it. Got some pictures but couldnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t go thru it because someone lives there. We didnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t go to Nova Scotia. The CAT which ferries people over there was just down the street from our hotel. However, it would have been 3 hours over and 3 hours back and for the tours they wanted over 100$ per person and we just didnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t want to spend that for one outing. At Acadia we took a horse-drawn carriage ride in the park. We went to the top of Cadillac Mountain, the highest point on the Eastern coast. We stopped and took quite a few pictures of the different attractions in the park, like Thunder Hole, Sand Beach and other different spots. Blueberries are big up there too, so weâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]re quite blueberried out. They also have a Shore path that runs along the coast. We walked along that and got some pictures. Breathtaking is the only word I can think of. This was a vacation unlike the others weâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]ve had. We couldnâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t decide which was more beautiful, Bar Harbor or San Fransisco

Sure! Everyone is welcomed to! We leave next week!

It's my first time there! My friends (who have been there before) and I will be doing a lot of hiking & kayaking in Arcadia, take a trip to Nova Scotia, and then head down to Portland for a few days so my friend can check out a law school.

If anyone is coming to Maine. I wish they'd stop by for a visit Boothbay Harbor is a lovely town right on the Harbor full of shops on the water front. Alot of boat cruises that take you whale watching. Lighthouse seeing, puffin and seal watching. We have a lobster boat and anyone coming by this way is always welcome to go on a boat ride we'd love to take anyone out hauling to see how lobsters are caught. Many of the light house can be seen by land here. The Boat that was in "Mutiny in the Bounty" that Marlon Brandon starred in H.M.S Bounty is in dry dock here being completly over hauled and redone. The harbor is full of sail boats and lobster boats. Boothbay Harbor is one of those quaint fishing villages.

I live in Salem, and when I was a little girl I wanted to be a tour guide when I grew up, LOL! We have so much history here in MA - from Plymouth Rock to the old State House in Boston to the route that Paul Revere rode when the British were coming (it's called the Freedom Trail, and you can walk the entire route in Boston) to Salem, famous for the fact that we murdered a bunch of innocent people and called them witches.

Seriously, it's a great place to visit, but it is WAY too expensive to live here. I hope to be able to move away from here someday!

The cost of living in my little corner of MA isn't as bad as some of the other areas. My husband actually commutes an hour to avoid the high cost of living up where he works.

I will also be in the White Mountains of NH at the end of August- one of my other favorite places

That sounds awesome! Do you give tours regularly? Or is this a special TCS offer? I have always wanted to go to Maine... and have been thinking about forcing hubby to take a few days off for a 4 day weekend. Our 4th wedding anniversary is coming up in Sept. so maybe we'll plan a trip there... I'll have to check out some prices today... It sounds so beautiful, and I've always wanted to go whale watching, and hubby would love learn how to haul lobsters...those are his favorite!!!
