both my girls kinsey and isis are dsh. i was wondering if you would call kinsey a calico or a tortie? and isis what is she? a russian blue or a silver? when looking at her back i see very very few white hairs maybe 20 of them at most

Well Russian Blue is a breed so I highly doubt yours is an actual Russian Blue. She is just a DSH gray or blue. I don't know technical names for the gray colours

But I do know your other cat is a Calico! She is a very cute one too!

I agree with Jen on your cats Russian Blue is a breed, the other kitten is a Calico. Your cat looks like a blue color you can look it up under google?

The one is solid blue. The other is a dilute calico (blue and cream, as opposed to black and red) Calico just implies the amount of white. Torties have very little white.

Russian blues have SILVER tipping on the hairs - not white hairs mixed in. So your one is a blue DSH mix and the other would be a calico.

Calico - basically a white cat with patches of black/red
Tortoiseshell - a mixture of black/red coloring intermingled - not patched.
Tortie/White - a tortoiseshell with some white markings - like feet, belly and on face.
