Please Help! Questions about flea treatments!

So my Persian Hector has had fleas for a really long time now. We've tried using both Advantage and Frontline Plus and can't seem to kill them. All three of my cats have fleas but Hector is not a very lovable critter and is a scaredy cat so it's harder to get a hold of him for treatment. I know there is no way in heck I could get him into a flea bath, if that's even what you do for cats. I really just don't really know what there is to do. I don't think my house is infested cause neither my boyfriend or I have bites and we only find fleas on the cats or on us right after the cats have left our laps. Poor Hector's hair has started to come out on his head and his coat looks really bad... I'm desperate!!! I love my Hector and I really want to help him. Any ideas?

You may not be using enough of the treatment. Take Hector into the vet and let the vet advise you about flea treatment. Also talk to the vet about room treatments for fleas, with hairy cats, fleas don't and won't bite you, we are a poor substitute for cats.

I've made two appt's for the vet so far and haven't made either one because I can't get a hold of him to put him in the cage. He really freaks out when he gets cornered and if you shut him in a room he hides so when you try to get him he freaks. But I will make another appt. tomorrow
