My wedding is approaching and I was going to go to a salon for facial. The place I'm going also offers microdermabrasion. Anyone ever had it done?. Any feedback would be great.

I've never gotten it done, but I really want to! I've heard good things about it! I'd go for it!

I was going to have it done, but my dermatologist recommended a series of 3 chemical peels instead. To be honest, the chemical peels didn't do very much. Hopefully microdermabrasion works better.

The woman at the salon said it is a great procedure because it doesn't irritate the skin and there is little or no redness. But of course she is trying to get my business so that's what I expected her to say

How far along before your wedding are you going? Just in case your skin does get irritated, you wouldn't want it to happen a day or 2 before hand, just in case... you know?

I plan on going next week, so I'd have about a month.

I actually have one of those little hand-held ones you can do yourself. I love it. I do it about every week or 2, and I've never experienced any skin irritation or anything. I have dry/oily skin, and I'm not so much worried about the oil, but the dry is irritating because of the flaking. It handles all of it, and makes my skin feel a ton smoother, and it looks healthier. Granted, I'm sure the salon is a little different, but I hope this helps. I'd do it in a heart beat, but like what was already said, don't do it to close to your wedding in case of any irritation.

One of our sales guys had it done to him last month. He loved it! His face was really soft and although he had a lot of "conditioners" to place onto his face for 3 weeks, he said he would absolutely do it again.

I would love to have that done! Maybe when that money tree in my backyard finally blooms
I say go for it! Make sure you report back!

I've read that in advance of a special occasion like a wedding or prom, you should start at least 3 months and have it done once a month, one to ensure that there's no negative reaction on your special day, but also so that you get the full effects of it. I know people that get it monthly and they love it, but I refuse to pay for it, unless it would be for a special occasion.
