Dh and I decided to go on a nice romantic date this evening, and we had a fairly good time. Yet, the poor girl sitting behind us didn't, and let me tell you why. She was on the worst date of her life. Among the things the guy said/did that were massively bad:

1. He asked her if she married her first husband for money.

2. He sent her food back to the kitchen without asking her first.

3. Brought up ALL of his exgirlfriends more than once.

4. Brought up sexually transmitted diseases in a very bad way.

5. Talked loud, fast, continuously, and wouldn't let her answer.

I knew she was having a bad time, because she kept shrinking in her seat and looking at her cell phone. I felt so bad for her, I almost made up a reason to go break up the date.

I had to share! Just overhearing that date makes me glad that I'm married!

Oh poor girl! At least it makes a funny story. I'm sure she called up a girlfriend and they had a good laugh about it.

Oh geesh. Now I don't want to date again.

Like mama always said, you gotta kiss a lot of frogs before you find your prince.

I'd of escaped out the bathroom or gnawed my arm off or something.

Movin' on up!
I have an arrangement, with my friend Jen. If the date is bad, I can call her from the ladies' room and have her call me back, in a few minutes. I then tell my date that something has come up, with my mother's health and I have to go. So far, I haven't had to resort to this.

Before I met B, I had a system similar to that too. If it was a first date, I would have one of my friends call me during dinner. The signal was, if I didn't pick up, it was going good. If I did pick up during the 'date', then it was a sign that was going bad and an excuse would promptly be made:
"I have to go home and let the dog out" (so what if I didn't reallyhave a dog)
"My friend's boyfriend just broke up with her and she really needs me..."

Etc...

My mom and I had this agreement also.
I would tell her before I left that I would call her from the ladies room and have her call me back in 5 mins... Saying something like my son was sick or something... I used it once

I met this guy through a friend of mine at a DARK bar and he seemed cool. We exchanged phone numbers and talked for about a week an agreed to go out the next weekend.
We met at a pool hall w/some of my friends and OMG! He was TOTALLY different looking and about 3 inches shorter then me. (I'm 5'3")

And he said he was 29 but looked about 40!
Thank god for my mother!

Then before DH and I got serious she would call and say "is everything ok?"
I was like "yes mother, I didn't call YOU did I?"

DH caught on after the 3rd phone call....

Oh let me tell you all about my last date I went out and the guy was okay looking but not really
And well his idea of a date was going and sitting in a hotel room and when I wouldn't do anything with him he decided to take a nap. And then I give him a second chance and his idea of a date was going and sitting at the truckstop and waiting on his bestfriend whom by the way is a female. And we sat and waited on her to clean her boyfriends truck out well actually he cleaned the truck while she handed trash to me. And then the date sits in the cab of the nice air conditioned truck while I have to stand on the steps of the truck (was an 18 wheeler) and it was so hot that the bottom of my shoes melted. So I had him drop me off at my bestfriends house. Well before he left we went and sat outside and I was talking to my friends and their little boy who calls me Aunt Gail was running around kissing everyone, he's only a year and a half. Well Ethan runs upto this date and he leans back and says sorry bud I'm not that way and makes Ethan cry. So I told him that he needed to leave. And he said well are you mad at me.
So I sympathize with that poor girl.

I once started talking about "my maternial clock" and how much i wanted to have children to get out of a bad date- wouldn't you know the weirdo was totally into it! Lol, so i excused myself to the restroom, called my best friend and told her to call me back in 2 minutes....and when she did, i made sure i was at the table to answer. When i picked up i had her pretend that she had a serious girl malfunction! Hehe, i told the looser that my best friend was having trouble with her "monthly flow" and needed me to buy her tampons. LOL- it sooo worked! I was out of there!
