I think there is a test that they can do in house. It's an enzyme test. They can also send blood away to another lab which would take a couple of days to get the results back.

I do find it strange that the kitten just up and died when it got to the vet's though. Did Tripod die on it's own or did the vet euthanize him after telling you the results?

Sorry, but I have to ask this...

Are you sure the vet isn't needlessly killing them?

It seems just too strange that you take 6 kittens to a vet seemingly without an appointment, and he tells you that one has FL and then euthanizes it. Now you have a second cat that just up and died while it stayed the night at the vets.

Did he euthanize that one too or did it just up and die on it's own?

If he euthanized, why?

If it just up and died, why?

You need to stop just sitting there crying and take some action and start asking questions.

I'm not saying to accuse the vet of killing the kittens, but you need to ask questions about the reason, treatment options etc.

1-I brought them to a vet that is open 24 hours.

2-they new that I was coming because when my friend found them I called the vets.

3-No he did not euthanized the other one. He said the other one passed away.I dont know why.

4-you got a point. but you got to think. I just lost two kittens.
what happens if you lost your cats? you would be cring too. right?
it is not like ok I cry for one day and the pain goes away. It doesnt
go like that.

5-I asked already why did they die? what caused the seconed one to die?
did you euthanized the seconed one? i asked.

I never said it isn't ok to cry, because it is ok and it's perfectly normal

I was just concerned that you kept coming here and posting about kittens dying and not providing any information as to why, and I was concerned that you were so upset that you were just accepting things and not questioning the vet about the tests, the illnesses, the treatments, the unexpected death, etc.

If you don't know the vet, check him out fast, because animals can be sold to researchers sometimes (though don't suggest anything like that to him directly as he will definitely throw you and the cats out instantly!). If you're not comfortable, take them somewhere else.

I would take them out of there to someone else you know better (did you see the kittens after they died, or just take his word for it that they did?) because he could be selling them to a store or something, however remote the idea might seem.

Those pictures are sooooo cute. For a crate I personally use a infants play pen. I have 4 3 week old kittens and the mom her gang have lots of room to wander at that tiny age without getting hurt. It also keeps Puddy-Tat who is my 9 week old orphaned kitten I found when he was only 2 weeks old.

The pen is called Graco play yard and it is only $40 dollars at K-Mart. It has a soft bottom (like a pillow) and soft sturdy netting. Very cute and useful especially when you need to clean around the house. No missing kitties
