Okay guys..I got my new kitten on day and I am stuck on names. I like people names though...so far I have Wesley (Wes), Tyler (Ty) and Theodore (Theo). But I am not sold on any of them.

So I was looking for suggestions...what would you name this kitten-

I really like Theodore. It seems fitting with his photo and sounds good with Sebastian.

I am not the person to ask about cat names, my boys are named 8-Bit Wolfgang and Scratch Fury Destroyer of Worlds. He looks like a Muffin to me. I don't know why that name struck me, but if he were mine, his name would be Muffin.

Lookingglass...I LOVE your cats names!
So original...where did you come up with them?

I am actually kind of leaning towards Theodore..I like people names for cats for some reason....I was also trying to think of really cool comic book characters as well...but not coming up with anything

Scratch Fury Destroyer of Worlds is from the web comic PVP. The cat in that web comic is trying to take over the world, but is thwarted by his own catlyness. Also Scratch is very mild mannered, so I picked a name that didn't suite him to the point of being ridiculous.

8-Bit is named after the original Nintendo Entertainment system. My husband and I are big into gaming so we thought it fit.

I am way more into web comics than paper comics now, so I can't really help you there. All the names is web comics are either really funny or aren't family friendly enough for me to post on TCS!

For people names, I like Andrew, Philip or Roland - Roland d'Armand isn't a comic name, but it's a distant cousin (it's the name of a character in one of my stories).

For comic book names I like Lord Shaper or Lord Morpheus (both names of Dream of the Endless in The Sandman).

Half way in between is Chesterton after G.K. Chesterton who inspired the character of Fiddler's Green/Gilbert in The Sandman (and I think your kitty's face looks a lot like Fiddler's Green in the comic). G.K. Chesterton wrote some of the most beautiful poetry and thoughts in the English language, including one of my all time favourites: 'Fairytales are more than true, not because they tell us that Dragons exist, but because they tell us Dragons can be beaten'.

I like the name Theodore, or Theo. There's something very.. elegant and ancient about the name, and he looks like a very elegant kitty

How about Thaddeus (you could call him Tad for short) or Rolland. Or Gregory even. Of the names you mentioned I really like Wes too.

I personally love weird proper sounding names for cats. We have Samuel Lenard Catson …Sam for short. Then there is Stormy Jade Catson… Storm Ball for sort. Angelica LeeAnne Catson ….Angie for short. Then there is our new addition Bullyard Brunsworth Catson… Bull for short.

Anyway good luck choosing a name for the little cutie pie!

How about Quartermaine? or Quartermaine of NY (since your location is in NY)? or Theodore Quartermaine "insert your last name here"? Theodore Quartermaine "your last name" of New York? Very aristocratic. Just being silly...

Let us know what you decide.

Loving my beautiful baby girl
I'd name him gorgeous! Look at his unique tail!
This little boy needs a very classy name. Theodore would be appropriate, but not Theo. How about Belle, from the old cartoon about Sebastian and Belle? Belle is very pretty.
