2 years tomorrow since Moogie died.
We didn't have her very long, only about 4 years. She was a rescue cat, her first owner had been ill for a long time and died, and poor Moogie was very scared of all the movement and loud noises in our house. She spent the first six months running and hiding under the sofa at the slightest sound or movement, but grew to trust us. She was a black cat, who took sadistic joy in standing in our way as we stumbled about in the dark .... the amount of times I nearly fell down the stairs as she tripped me up!
I still miss her and the affection she gave to us, her skinny tail and bald elbows, waking up in the middle of the night to find her sitting staring at us (unsettling), her purrs even when she became ill and needed weekly visits to the vet, her hatred of Alf our other cat, her boyfriend Muffin who would wait in the garden for her. And so many other things that were special about her and remind me of her.
I'm sad, but enjoying the chance to remember Moogie
