I know a lot of people use that litter for cats who have been de-clawed, It's supposedly softer and easier for their sore paws. I used it once (got it for free through my work) but my cats didn't take to it because the litter is in pellet form. So the consistancy is a lot different then regualr litter. Also you have to stir the litter instead of scoop because it doesn't clump. It works for some people though.

It's a good rabbit litter, and I do know a few people who use it for cats. It does have big pellets though and I don't know if many cats would like that. That's my same concern about wood pellet litter with cats, which is what I actually use for my rabbits.

My 7 cats could care less about their litter so I switch on them all the time. I tried Yesterdays News but I don't like it because it smells like a barn when the cats go in it. I prefer Feline Pine because it smells really good and it's flushable. I love the pellet kind because it is harder for the cats to fling it everywhere. They even make special litterboxes for pellet litter if you want to use it. I am now switching between Feline Pine and some other brand from Pet Supplies Plus that is made up of grain pellets. It is a reddish brown color.

Oh and I don't think Yesterday's News is new, it has been around for at least a few years.

Yes that is what it is.

If you don't like the pellets, the one I mentioned from Pet Supplies Plus comes in cracked pine pieces (almost litter sized) as well as the grain pellets I mentioned. Plus the price is pretty comparable.

I will see if I can look up the brand name.

Is there a Pet Supplies Plus near you?

Oh I forgot they are only in the eastern (mostly NE) US.

Apparently Yesterday's News has an original and soft texture. I don't know how different they really are but never know.

I am thinking the litter I was referring to from Pet Supplies Plus is this one http://www.heartypet.com/proddetail...._pet_2&cat=210

You can order online too. I threw out the bag I had otherwise I would go downstairs and check. I am switching back to Feline Pine or the cheaper Pet Smart brand ExquisiCat. It is cheaper and you get more. I believe it is only sold at PetSmart.

What is nice about the pellets is that when the cat pees on it, it turns to sawdust. So there are other uses for it too. It leaves no trace of odor. I have picked up the sawdust from where the cat peed (once it dried of course) and smelled it and it smelled like fresh pine. I even touched it as there is no reminants of pee. This is where the special litterboxes come in to the picture (or you can use a normal litter scooper but with smaller holes in it. You want to sawdust to come out and the pellets to stay in. I use a large screen sifter. But these special litterboxes are actually one inside another. The top one has holes in it so the sawdust goes through and the pellets dont. So you sift the sawdust into the garbage or toilet.

Really nice, I highly recommend Pine pellet litter.

As I mentioned already, you can use a special litterbox, here http://www.felinepinelitterbox.com/

or you can make one on your own.

Or you can get a special scoop to sift out the sawdust into the garbage and then just pick the poops out with another scoop like this one https://www.felinepinelitterbox.com/order/index.htm
where it holds the poop on the scoop but sifts out the pellets back into the litterbox.

I just use a normal scoop or a sifter and sift the sawdust into the trash or toilet.
