My friend's next door neighbor's cat apparently had kittens. She was fat one day and skinny the next and now she is bleeding.

The lsdy has been feeding her but cannot afford to get her to a vet.

Is there anyone who rescues in or around Montery and what can my friend do for her meanwhile?

If it is but a drop or two of blood, that is pretty normal for up to ten days afterwards. But, if it is significantly more than that, there is a problem which must be addressed - this of course, means a vet visit.

Thanks I have passed on the information. This lady has a dog who is going in for surgery for a lump and another who suddenly with no warning bites a part of himself to a raw pulp, AND a husband with Parkinsons. She has little money and knows little about cats but wants to help!

Her neighbors say if it dies they just get another!

How many times has THAT happened? Maybe she needs to reconsider having a cat. Perhaps someone else could look after the cat and take it over for visits. That just sounds too disturbing to me.

You have NOT read the whole thread! Rainbow is NOT this lady's cat. SHE has 4 Poodles, and a sick husband. SHE has insurence for her Poodles.

This little cat and a dog are owned by spanish speaking people who moved in next door. They allow the cat to roam and do not even feed her.

My frend has taken on feeding her and saw one day she was fat - the next skinny. She saw she is bleeding and is trying to contact rescue groups to help. SHE has no money and knows nothing about cats!

Your friend needs to contact Animal Control....removing this cat is probably not the answer...getting it fixed at a free clinic would be preferable.

I have a link in my signature to low cost clinics...and she may even want to contact local vets and explain that she has a cat that is in desperate need of spaying that does not belong to her (true story) that she is willing to take in IF the vet is willing to donate a spay.

I did read the thread, I was trying to refer to the friends neighbors that have this cat. I'm assuming it's the that said "if it dies they just get another!" If that is their attitude towards their animals then maybe they'd be better off without pets.

You are SO right! That is how my friend feels too! SHE has 4 Poodles - one with a lump who goes soon for surgery and a husband with Parkinsons, but SHE is doing her best for this cat!

I USED to be owned by a large WONDERFUL Poodle and knew this lady from the Poodle boards. Now my boy is gone I no longer frequent those boards but she keeps in touch anyway!
