I could answer my own question huh? I would have to say here in the mountains, but, I want a log cabin with my very own pond away from town. I am a country girl.

hmm i can have a summer home and a winter home??

i would love to live in SF well just about anytime

but i want a summer/fall place in New England, somewhere on the coast, maybe oh, around the Marblehead area in MA??

or some place just north of there....

hate the taxes in MA but loved living on the North Shore for the weather and the beach

mind you, i seldom went to the beach when i lived there, but it was comforting to know the ocean was just a 15 min walk away

ok until the blizzard of 78 struck, but still.................LOL

Everybody has such neat ideas. I have a few fav ideas:

1. A Castle - anywhere, really.

2. Prague, in the Czech Republic (the old part of course)

3. Paris, France

4. The north of France somewhere, probably somewhere near Mont. Saint Michel.

In a farmhouse type house in a country area back home in Georgia, or in the North Carolina mountains (which is where hubby is originally from). At this point I'm not too picky. I just want to be within a days drive of my family and OUT OF THE CITY!

When I lived in MA I never went to swim but would take drives along the coast just for the view and the salt air. When I lived in RI it was a block away and the smell of salt air was the first thing I noticed when I got home a hot summer day. Where I live now, NH, the coast is an hour away and I have been there once in 16 years. I do miss the ocean!

My choice would be to live next to the ocean but high enough up so as not to get blown away with the winds and tide in a hurricane or blizzard.

Also I would have unlimited funds so I could keep as many cats as I wanted.

In a log cabin..... in the Mountains of West Virginia..........over looking a stream or beautiful scenery.Thankfully we only live about 5 hours from the Mountains, so go there a couple of times a year in the Summer.

This might be pathetic but the house I grew up in that my family lived in for 25 years and suddenly my dad sold it with no warning.

I loved that house.

My sister and I went back and "broke in" (not my fault they didn't change the locks) on Easter while they were remodeling and looked around. It wasn't the same house anymore of course, they had changed every floor except the hardwood in the bedrooms and light fixtures, the countertops my dad put in were torn out....

So I guess it exists only in our heads now. But you didn't say it had to be real!

Now, if I could put that house anywhere I wanted... I have no idea, further away from the city for sure. I really do love Ohio though. Every time I travel I miss it. I was standing in the lavabeds in western New Mexico, thinking about how much I missed Ohio! What is wrong with me?

With the weather the way it is in the UK right now, Iceland sounds wonderful.

I can understand., that. After my family moved out to the middle of no place,
the new house never felt like home, once i was able to drive i used to drive by the house that i was born in. and i still wonder what it looks like now on the inside

Be it ever so humble there is no place like home, so there is nothing wrong with you.

lol maybe that is why i travel so much, looking for that place i can call home?
i would be more then happy to just stay in Indo and let the wife be happy. lol have to admit bali is nice,,

I have 2 places I wish I could live: Either in New York City in a High Rise Condo facing Central Park, or a large home on the outskirts of London.

I would love to live in Dubai, in one of those man-made islands. Not to mention that they are building six theme parks!
