Well today my mom and i took my 13 week old kittens to get their shots. I put them together in their cat carrier and put a towel in there for them and we hit the road to the vet who lives about an hour away. But i made one big mistake... i fed them before we left. Now if any of you have ever been to/lived in MO you know that Mid MO is nothing but hills and turns.

Well about halfway thru the trip Buddha and Habusaki were sleeping. then Habusaki woke up and started miawing (which she rarely does) i looked in the back seat and she was in her cage kind of lurching forward... then she just threw up everywhere....

Well it wasnt so bad because it landed on the towel right? All we had to do was pull over and shake out the towel right? WRONG! No where to pull over... Then Buddha wakes up and looks at the puke. then he kinda looked at me and started meowing and then he lurched forward and threw up too! and not on the towel either!

So after that i decided "oh its not so bad i'll just hold them on my lap." so i picked them up and when i brought them up fromt they got some puke on theur feet which then got on me.... so i put them on the floor and cleaned myself up and they were just laying there. then Buddha got up and crawled under my seat. i tried to get him but i couldent reach him. i decided that he would be fine under there for a while. no. he climbed in the bcak and took a huge runny poop. it had me gagging!

Then Habuski decides she needs to investigate so she climbs back there and decided to take a poop also!

I finally get them both in the front again and they are calm and relaxed. I thought that we could just roll the windows down and breathe through our mouths and when we got there clean up the car. Then Habusaki got up and started walking around and takes a huge piss right by my feet. so i wipe off her and Buddha's paws and put them in the back and start to wipe it up with napkins a little. i turn around to bring them in front again and Buddha is squatting on the seat taking a pee! i tried to clean that up the best i could.

after all that i figured good... their systems are empty. they cant possibly make another mess... WRONG AGAIN!!!! they both pooped in the front one last time before they crawled up and went to sleep.

On top of that they had to get a shot today so they are both pretty upset with their meowmy...

Lesson of the story... never EVER feed a cat before a car trip...

It's times like those that makes me glad my vet is only up the road about 4 miles!

When we were going to another vet farther away, we had one cat that meowed the whole way. Sort of like - "Are we there, yet? Are we there, yet? Are we there, yet?"
Ari is due for shots and he hates the carrier.

My previous foster Sugartoes puked every time we drove the 1 hour to the adoption shows. She always meowed an odd meow first, too. It sounds like you really had a mess on your hands! Good luck getting that car clean!!!

Oooh no! lol, it was just one thing after another.

I have a similar story, and I learned the same lesson. I was driving home to Ohio from North Carolina once and thought the cats had all gone (I have a litter box set up for them anyway). Well Trixie, our long haired kitty, decided to use the potty 15 minutes into the 9 hour ride. She's only got three legs (missing one in the back) and the way she was squatting, she pushed all the poop into her fur...then came up in the front seat with me. I spent 20 minutes on the side of the road cutting poop out of her fur!
