I am trying to eliminate casein from my diet ... This is proving hard since I love cheese and yogurt ... Any recipes that are casein and gluten free are greatly appreciated... This is for a medical reason

Do you live near a Wild Oats or a Whole Foods Market? They have an amazing gluten free section where you can get everything from pretzels to blueberry muffins.

I was all excited because I have a line of crackers I found for a friend who has to avoid yeast, wheat, gluten etc., but it has some milk in it.

However, I did find this page - which ignoring that it's theme is treating autism with a gluten/casein free diet, has what looks to be a lot of info:
http://www.tacanow.com/dietinfo.htm

I hope it turns out to be a helpful site for you.

There is a Trader Joe's in Spokane (per a quick google search), and this is, while not a Whole Foods Market, one with lots of interesting options...would be worth checking out.

I am surprised that there isn't something like this or Marlene's Deli (very organic, gluten free options etc. kind of store) in the larger city near you.

Fwiw, Tops (Haggen Foods) has a small but at least existing gluten free section.

Another thing you could try would be vegan cookbooks, since they would not contain dairy and thus no casein. Not that you have to turn vegan, it's just a very interesting place to start and you could get some recipes even to use as side dishes with meat or something. Also, vegans are crafty and have come up with all kinds of ways to mimic meat, cheese, yogurt, etc.

Just a thought! I hope you can find a Tjs by you!
