I got sucked into a Disney channel show this afternoon, Hannah Montana. Its really a cute show. It got me thinking about shows that were geared toward "tweens" (I was a tween before that phrase came around) when I was growing up.

My favorites:

Hey, Dude. It was on Nickelodeon. High School kids worked on dude ranch during the summer. It had David Lascher in it and Christine Taylor (the girl who played Marsha Brady in the Brady Movie and who is married to Ben Stiller now).

You Can't Do That On Television. Also Nick. I beleive Alanis Morissette was on it. If you said "can't" you got slimed.

Does anyone else remember watching these shows? Or remember others like it?

My favorite was the girl named Brad, I thought she was so cool!

I can't think of any other ones - besides Full House and Saved by the Bell

I watched Saved by the Bell too, but it wasn't my favourite. I loved Beverly Hills 90210

Beverly Hills 90210, Party of Five, Roswell, Melrose Place, Models Inc, Malibu Shores, 7th Heaven (which is corny but still on) Yep you can tell I was a young stay at home mom!

Hmmm, I am feeling older now, I was too old to enjoy the Nick shows. I always watched Full House, Growing Pains, Family Matters, and my favorite to this day is Roseanne.

Ok, I actually haven't watched much tv since childhood - my tweens almost totally passed tv by (I did love SeaQuest DSV, though, when I got to see it - RIP Jonathan Brandis).

In my tv watching heyday I LOVED She-ra Princess of Power, to the extent that I tried to get my hands on copies since - man, I don't remember it having been voiced by what can only be described as sounding like porn stars. I liked Voltron too.

Funny story: when I was little I loved, loved the A-team - but, because of the intro, I was CONVINCED that it was a documentary. Weird kid, huh?

My favorites where Brady Bunch, Leave it to Beaver, Patridge Family, and Andy Griffith. I also got a kick out of Lucy and Ethel too! Oh, and Happy Days! I had a Fonzie pillowcase!

I love She-Ra and Voltron!!! Voltron was the original power ranger IMO
I watched You Can't Do That On Television too, and Double Dare, that game show on Nick. I also watched the X-men cartoon and the Batman cartoon, never was into Saved By the Bell or 90210, I never realized how many cartoons I used to watch
I actually read ALOT when I was a tween/teen rather than watch TV, dirty smutty romance novels at that

I read a lot too, sometimes dirty smutty novels, if my mother left them lying around - I found them fascinating in an almost anthropological way.

Okay, I thought you meant like, as little kids, and mine were: Fraggle Rock, Care Bears (the original one), Eureka's Castle, The Reading Rainbow, Punky Brewster, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and of course, The Smurfs.

However, my absolute favorite show ever apparently doesn't exist, and nobody watched it. If you know what it is, you will have my deepest appreciation.
It began with a bearded, fatherly-figure type walking through the woods to his secret spot, and he walked over a log and everything made this weird boinky boinky noise (it's really hard to describe). He got to his little place and he had a guitar he kept in the rocks where the main show was, and he sang EVERYTHING almost. He also had friends who lived in the forest and in a treehouse, I think they were all puppets, like a monkey or something was one (not sure about that). It was early-80s, definitely meant for children, and was likely on PBS or something. Nobody has even the faintest what it might be.

In my "tweens" I was not allowed to watch anything. Roseanne, The Simpsons, etc were all "immoral" according to my parents.

I did watch Bill Nye the Science Guy pretty religiously, though, and Are You Afraid of The Dark, and Pete & Pete.

If nobody has guessed by now I'm in my early 20s, I don't know what other clues there could be!

Oh, and smutty books-- my parents had this weird, hippy-dippy book about childbearing from the late-60s that was very graphic and all about love and pictures of babies emerging. I read it so often I almost have the thing memorized. Then when I was a teen I found their copy of "Joy of Sex" hahahaha were they embarassed!

Maybe Fables of the Green Forest?

Here's a link that might help:

If you figure it out, please tell me, it's a puzzle for me now too.
