My 4yo male just returned home last night after being treated for a first time urinary blockage (hopefully his last). He was hospitalized for 4 days, and now has to be brought back to the vet daily for approximately a week. As Casper was being released, some concernes that the Dr. had was with him not eating or drinking despite looking hungry, and not going to the bathroom on his own. They ended up catheterizing him again right before release, and we were told that this procedure may be repeated if he does not urinate on his own.

Well, most fears seemed to be unfounded: the cat ate with great gusto immedeately after being brought home and drank lots and lots of water. It all seemed fine for 4-5 hours, when around 9pm something weird started happenning... He's been going to the litterbox every few minutes all night long. Sometimes up to 4 times an hour. Each time he is able to produce urine, so I don't think he is blocked. Its just that this is a VEY unusual behavior for any cat. He does not seem uncomfortable, only mildly annoyed that he has to go non-stop. And I am actually happy that he will be going back to a vet in a few hours. I just wanted to get little heads up whether or not you guys think its a normal behavior after such illness. I am pretty sure that at least one medication prescribed (out of three) is going to affect his bladder function but for a cat to pee every 10-15 minutes just seems to be so odd. At this point we don't know if its a good or a bad thing. Please help

One more thing... when Casper comes out of the litterbox and sits down on the floor between his super-friquent bathroom brakes, he lives a little dropplet behind him. Perhaps this is a normal thing that we just never noticed? Perhaps not?
