I beleive I have torn or seriously sprained my right pectoral muscle. I think I did it moving the couch last night during my nightly game of "find the kittens before bed." Anyway, I woke up the morning and couldn't really move comfortably. The pain is focused where the pectoral muscle meets my breast bone. (I woke up this morning saying "Honey, I think I broke my boob!
) I've taken tylenol, but I'm tempted to put IcyHot on it for better relief, but am afraid because it is rather close to my vital organs, lung and heart. Anyone know if this would be okay or have any other suggestions?

Doing landscaping for a living I have strained my left pec muscle. I can sympathize with your pain!!! The only thing that is recommended is ice for the 1st 24-48 hrs then you can try alternating with heat and anti imflammatories.
I really don't know if icy hot or other such products would do anything other than short term.
Maybe have DH massage it!!

I'm sure he'd just hate that!

I'm going to try ice and see how it goes. Thanks for the suggestion.

Another good suggestion, unfortunately I am a stay-at-home mom with two toddlers. I don't really know what a bath is anymore.
Maybe I'll make a trade with DH when he gets home: I'll take a bath and then he can massage my, uh, sore muscle.
