Maybe some of you might get mad at me for such a decision, but I've decided to give Hades back to her former owner who is very much into cats. This is because our house is way too small for her and the risks are pretty much big, she tends to play with wires and I'm very concerned about her getting into power lines coz with our small house you cannot go into one corner without seeing one. I really have no issue about money or the job of taking care of a cat, but I have this feeling that she'll be better with her former owner taking care of her.

And don't think about me being cruel in making such a decision, I'm trying to stop my tears while posting this. I mean, we only spent 5 days together and I gave her all the love I can, but sometimes certain circumstances can't be avoided. So I guess I'll be saying goodbye tomorrow morning to her.

Anyway she'll be back with her former owner who has more time and have a better place for a cat. I'll surely miss her.

Hopefully I can get over the sorrow of parting with her, she's such a nice kitty.

oh sweetheart, I see no reason why you have to give Hades back to her former owner. How old is she? You know all kittens get into everything and anything no matter how big or small the house they live in!

I do understand that kittens (she's 4 months old) like play and things like that but I can't deny that we have a lot of dangers in our house for her, I know it's hard to let go, I mean, I'm trying to hold back my tears when I think of the fact that I'm letting go, but I think it's for her better. Her former owner is a cat enthusiast, and has a safer place for her.

its cool

you did what you thought was the right thing for the kitty.
in time i am sure you will be in a place that is much better for a pet.
until then, keep reading the site and lean some more.

I think you said once there where alot of cats that come around your house?
well, make friends with them,

after thinking it over, i changed my mind, there has got be something there, that will keep her from playing with the wires? ask your friend.?? place a rug over top of them wires, or learn to say NO!! alot, hehe i have to do that to keep mine form playing with all the network wires here.

Wow, it sounds to me like you really adore this cat. If you have done everything you could to keep the kitty safe, I don't see why you must give her up?

I would cover my whole house in bitter apple and foil before I ever gave Trout up

I'm sorry you had to make this decision. I guess as long as the cat is happy and safe than it will be alright. You must be so sad though.

If the previous owner is such a cat enthusiast, how come they got rid of this cat in the first place?

You really love her. Can you take some electrical ties and bunch the cords together so they will be less tempting to her? Do everything you can to kitten-proof your home. Has the former owner seen your house? Have you spoken with the him/her and asked for suggestions? Maybe you don't have to give her up.

No one will be mad at you. We just want you and your kitty to be happy.

Thanks a lot for the comfort guys. Aside from power lines she's always left alone during daytime, so I guess I'd better have someone take care of her, someone who can attend to her for the majority of the day.

I think the former owner had way too many kitties so she gave some to her officemates. So probably Hades might not end up in her former owner's house but on another of her officemate's.

Though there are 2 feral cats who are in our backyard who just purr for food. They're quite nice as well, aside from racing to get the food.

It seems that you thought long and hard about this decision, and it was not a decision made lightly. Her safety is important, and if she cannot be safe in your house, I can understand that you would want her to be where she can be safe and happy. I am sorry you had to give her up, even if it is what's best for her. I don't think anyone will be mad at you for it. I admire your unselfishness, and I hope that giving her back will not prevent you from visiting TCS.

Of course, there are 2 stray cats here who always want some food.

I still cannot deny that I am always worried whenever she's left here alone. It was really a tough and painful decision, heck I've been trying to stop my tears for the past 4 hours, but if it's for Hades' better, then I'd just take it. Hopefully I can get through this soon.

I admire your decision to do what is best for your kitten. She will be happier in a place that is more safe for her, and you will be happier knowing she's in a safer place. I had to make the same decision with a rabbit, because she was terrified of my cats and it was starting to impact her health. If you do get another cat at some point just make sure it's an older cat, as all kittens will get into trouble.

It really hurts a lot hearing her purr inside the carrier and try to reach out her hand... it'll be only a few minutes before she leaves, as she leaves I'll leave 3 wishes for her..

- Good health and safety
- She remembers all the love and care I gave her for the 5 days we've been together.
- We'll see each other again, wherever that could place be.

Oh well, the taxi with mom and Hades just left, I'll surely miss Hades for quite some time. It's really saddening to see her in the carrier in the back seat of the taxi cab and watch it leave.

Update on Hades:

The former owner who gave her to us needed the carrier, so she took Hades back home, but when she doesn't need the carrier she might give Hades to her other officemate, Mom said she and her officemates liked Hades a lot since she was such a good kitty and they fed her in the office. I feel so good that Hades is such a good kitty now unlike the timid one when she first came here.

She was such a good companion for an only-child like me, I'd surely miss her and will never forget those 5 days that we've spent with each other. I feel much better now compared to how I felt several hours ago and last night.
