We are just getting a HUGE thunderstorm at the moment - and I can only imagine what Harley & Davidson are doing right now

Harley hates storms - thunder, loud noises like that, and Davidson has never had to deal with anything like that. I can only imagine that they are both scared hiding under the bed

I wish I were home with them!!

Anyone else have kitties that are afraid of big storms?

Yes, Monkey is very afraid...she would always come and cuddle next to me whenever it thunders.

***********

At least Davidson has Harley to protect him...and I am sure Harley is taking the big brother role!!

My neighbors dog howls something fierce when we have thunderstorms. My cats are pretty good.

The Z-ster is not afraid of storms, at all. She'll go on a walk if it's just light rain, and if it's thunder and lightning she'll sit by the window and look out, sometimes falling asleep.

If there are tornado warnings around, I get out her carrier and she hops in and falls asleep. That way if there is a tornado I can bring her down in the stairwell easily without having to chase her around.

I hope your kitties are all okay in the storms!

Ophelia gets very aggressive in thunderstorms...to the point it is dangerous to be near her.
Twitch doesn't get bothered by them until thunder shakes the house. She then wakes up & looks around, & goes back to sleep. Lily is soo afraid of them she'll hide in my shirt. Damita gets disoriented, so she has to be confined to the bathroom to minimize stress. Chico doesn't care.

Storms don't phase either one of mine - thunder, lightning, rain, hail...no big deal. However, Trent hates the wind. He doesn't know what to do - if he should hide or if he should stay close to Meowmy and let me protect him. Poor little guy, I feel so bad for him when it gets really windy!

None of mine could care less, sometimes Pandora will watch the lightening, but that's about the only reaction I've noticed. Vino not scared of them either! and Girl isn't, but then she's deaf, so she can't hear them anyway

We had a little, I think. I dunno. The ground looked wet, but I didn't get up until 10:30 this morning. I haven't had a chance to go outside, either(homework). However, it is supposed to storm tonight, & I have plans to take my two dogs & a friend's dog swimming. If it's crappy, I dunno what we'll do. No big storms yet! The weather showed that it wouldn't get here until later....

None of my animals are the least bit affected by storms, except Smudge, who will crawl under the bed and wait it out.

Tailer is terrified of storms. He'll slink around with his tail between his legs, sit and cry, and/or just sit in one spot and shake like a leaf. He'll let me hold and pet him and that seems to make him feel better, but he won't let DH have anything to do with him (he usually prefers DH).

Several years ago DH and I went on a trip, and he managed to slip outside at some point. When my sister came to feed him the next day, she couldn't find him. He turned up under a bench out on our porch, wet and terrified. It had stormed the night before. He wasn't scared of storms before his adventure.

I think my guys would be more bothered by storms if it weren't for the fact that my boyfriend and I both really enjoy them. Spike and Oz startle when the thunder is particularly loud, and they'll act really skittish for a bit, but when they see how calm and content we are, they relax. I guess they figure if we're okay with thunderstorms, everything must be all right.

Family friends had a German Shepherd when I was growing up, and this big tough dog was terrified of thunderstorms. One day while they were out, they left him chained in the backyard and a storm struck. Rambo (the dog) was so scared, he dove through the screen door into their living room! (Thankfully the door was open, so he only tore through the screen, and didn't smash his way through plate glass windows!)

We had a HUGE thunderstorm come through at 1:30 today. I was worried about the kitties. It lasted for about an hour and a half. It torn down trees and power lines. My coworker came back from break and said she saw a tree on a car so I told them I was going home to assess the damages to our house because we have a tree both in the front of our house and on between our house and our neighbors. I expected one of the trees to be in our livingroom. Thankfully someone was looking our for us and there were only big branches everywhere. Our trash container ended up at the end of the block. I chased the neighbors trash containers down for them, before I went back to work. I looked in on the kitties and Twig, Rocket and Isis were sleeping in the cat tower and on the floor. Luna was no where to be seen. She hates thunderstorms. She hates most loud noises to be honest. I'm just glad everyone and everything came thru the storm with little or no damage. I was worried. I even called honey over at his work place to make sure he was ok. He was worried about the cats too. I hope I never see a horrible storm like that again. (especially if I'm not home!)That was scary!
