After the spaying

Ok kirra got spayed around 2pm today, she is still very very drunk, she cant even scratch her head without falling over. She was on my lap at one point and just suddenly feel over, and was sound asleep. Right now she is passed out on my lap again. She still seems to have minor control of her hind legs. How long does it take before the effects wear off? They said they give a pain killer shot that last 6-8 hours, could this be causing this? I am not used to seeing a small kitten after surgery. Most of my vets kept em over night or always did the spay before 10am and i picked up at 6pm. I am just wanting to make sure she is ok.

And as i stated in the updated on the other thread, she has internal sticthes and what looks like gluing outside, have yawl seen this before? Also we caught her licking the inscion in her drunken state, how do i protect this when i cant watch her?

Well i called the ER vet office and they said to keep and eye on her, but that the lethargy is normal, but they want me to watch her since she falls over asleep that way. They said to call my normal vet in the morning for a collar for her since she has licked the wound once. I feel bad, i mean one time and collar? is that really needed? i hate those collars.


so basically its watch and wait and she shouldnt be drunk in the morn when our vet opens is what the er vet said.

i feel so bad for her.
