This is a very weird story but here it goes...

I woke up at 7am like every morning to feed my 4 horses. Well i couldn't help but notice my young boy Wrangler pounding his chest at the stall door i walked over only to hear loud screams of a small kitten. Wrangler was scared of this little thing making such loud noises (horses= pray animal, cat= cougar). Anyways i took my boy out and put him in a open stall to get this "thing" out i could barley see the tiny little kitten in the corner digging her head into the sawdust.

I made a few meow sounds and she came right up to me thinking of course i was her mommy. I picked her up to check if she was male or female, it turns out she was a little girl. She had teeth starting in so i drew out how mom wasn't around. The cats around here are wild strays that stay in the forest next to us. She must of abandoned her or in her way weaning her.

So i brought this little grey thing in the house, she was covered head to paw in sawdust. I rubbed her off and rubbed her as if i was a mother licking her for comfort. It worked very well a few hours later she wouldn't leave my side. I decided to keep the little thing she was to adorable to ship back outside in 90-100% heat.

I cleaned out a big dog cage and put a shoe box and blankets and such in it for her to stay in, in the house. She cried at first but she fell asleep quickly. After that i wen't to the store and bought canned cat food. She's now doing great and my horse didn't harm her being he was 900lbs and could of easily crushed her in one tap of his large hoove.

She's very sweet and we belive her mom to be the stray tabby we've seen running around next to our 3 acre ranch in the forest and such. She's tabby, white, and a grey which looks to be turning into a tiger color. I recently lost my 2 barn cats one was my dear baby peaches that got hit by a color (R.I.P baby) she had this little white speck on her back and just in cause i seen the same white speck, same place on Krizzma my new kitten.

God sent a gift

I dont doubt you did get a gift. Congratulations
And dont forget most cats appreciate a friendly cat-companion. A friendly grown up would perhaps be perfect, acting wellwishing uncle or perhaps even fostermother.

But how recently did your old cat passed away? Ie, anywhere when this one could be born?

Sometimes people post ads on Craigslist....just make sure if you do get a companion for your little one that both are vet checked.

Why do i have a feeling she will hate me after she meets the vet lol. My one cat inside he wouldn't even let me pet him for like 3 days after i neatured him :p. I had to make him understand i can't afford a bunch of loud cranky little kittens.

She's good though she's quite and sleeps alot, but yea i'll be arranging an appointment with the vet to get everything down. She is to young to be spayed right now. I'll check that out for the kittens, also if anybody knows any kittens for adoption i'm willing to adopt a furry friend in need.

My baby girl just is loosing touch with my stuffed tiger lol she gets alittle cranky when he doesn't talk back

Thanks everybody she's been a joy to the household.

Oh she is cute! As long as she is over 2 lbs she isn't too young to be spayed. It is heard to tell from the picture but don't wait until 5 or 6 months!

I'm not sure how old my others were she's pretty tiny i'll have to weigh her. If not the vet always does and he'll ask me if i want to do everything now which is best since it saves me money from more trips.

Thanks everybody she is very adorable. Hehe

Check with Vic61 (the message right below yours) sounds like she has a ton of kittens waiting for a home.

She's adorable!
I'm so glad you found each other!

I'm also glad she's going to the vet...her eyes look a little goopy, but maybe they were just irritated from the sawdust.

Keep us updated on her!

Yup, well called the vet and such and i did ask about her eyes because i clean them like crazy and it doesn't help. He said that kittens don't always have active bowels.

He said it will take time for the cat food to go threw the system that and she's a kitten. He said if she isn't looking for a nipple and such she should be weaned, when they start getting sharp teeth they make the moms nipples sore and thats when she starts to wean them off.

She tiny because she could possibly of been the runt of the litter and mother did away with her. So endless chances, but he said to wait alittle longer and call back or bring her in if i think she isn't inproving.

She's doing great though she's got an more active bladder and is eating much better she started on the water so everything seems to be doing great. She's also alot more active and plays more so its time to take her to petco for some toys hehe. I'll keep everybody updated.

Thanks- KittyPaws & Krizzma

did the vet recommend any kitten food that might be high in nutrients since she's not getting any from her mom? She sure is cute.

No actually he didn't. Hmm maybe i should call him again? She's seems fine on the wet cat food i give her (American Value). If i think anythings wrong with the food and such i can always take a stool sample to him.

I'm also looking into insurance plans my animals always manage to get something. So i'm checking into that alot.

Thanks- KittyPaws & Krizzma

If you want to know good kitten food - and you dont know yourself ask at some good forum. Feks att our Health and Food forum.

Not sure a vet is best to ask about healthy kittens food - or have time to explain. Especially not if all wants the consultation to be cheap. Time is money you know.
In Sweden they almost never talk about different brands. Sometimes it is clear they dont know them. Only possible exception is Hills, and this because they are selling that, especially the special diets variations.

Honestly i just buy what seems cheap or on sale and i've never once had a cat die because my cat food so i see no problem. Or had health problems with any food i fed. I do mix some like the chicken i got she can't eat it she starts coughing so i mixed the chicken with the beef & liver plus the vet suggested adding water to the food since she isn't drinking water good and she's doing awesome.

She has been on a good balanced bladder track and she doesn't have any problems she doesn't have dirahh. Which is good so i think she's doing fine.

Oh she is soooo cute!!!!

Just make sure it's kitten food - it's higher protein. You may also want to get some KMR (most pet stores carry it) for her - that'll help boost the liquids intake too. And it'll be a nice treat from time to time.

If cleaning her eyes isn't helping, she may have an infection and need antibiotics.

Also, I don't know if you're letting the two cats interact, but it's best not to until she's seen the vet.

Also - you've probably already figured this out, but she made need a little help cleaning up. When one of our fosters was that small, if we didn't help clean her, she'd get a little crusty around the mouth and nose. Warm water on a wash cloth works just fine.

I'm so glad you rescued her! She looks too darling.

Update:

Well she wen't outside i hate it so much but i searched about 4 pet stores and tried calling the vet she has flea's and troy and i decided its best she stays outside. I know she's young but we check on her alot and we can't have flea's in the house since we have other animals and such.

So she will stay outside as a barn cat also i changed her food i've decided to start her out on Friskies wet kitten food and i've been mixing and such and she loves it. Also she still isn't drinking so i have to keep mixing fresh water in the food so she gets some type of fluid until she learns to drink from the dish.

I currently just have a friends cat here since she's "my" only cat. They've never come into contact since my friends cat is older (bigger) and doesn't like kittens she's to bossy and tertioral around them

She really doesn't need to be put outside just because of the fleas. All you have to do is give her a bath - very gently (and because she's so small, you should put cotton balls in her ears) using Dawn dish soap. Dry her off gently with a towel, then use a flea comb.

Vaccuum your house for the next week every day with flea collars cut up and put the vaccuum bag or cylinder. This needs to be done anyway, as flea eggs are already anywhere around where she's been.

That should be all it takes!

There is a flea medication you can use on kittens. I don't know the name of it off-hand, and it can only be gotten from a vet - but even outside she needs protection from the fleas, and a flea collar is NOT the way to go! Nor are any flea medications you can buy at the supermarket or pet store. When she's old enough, she really ought to be treated with Advantage or Frontline.

If you keep her in a separate room and make the introduction to your existing cat VERY slowly, things should be just fine between them. Your kitty is so little she can easily stay in just one room for a month or more if that's what it would take.

Rather than banish her to the outside so small and so young, maybe it would be better to contact some shelters or rescue orgs to see if you can find a no-kill shelter so she can be adopted? There are links in my signature line that can help. Also just type in your zip-code in this link and it'll pull up another list of orgs in your area:

lol were not getting rid of her just because she has to stay outside. She was born outside and she loves outside i've kept cats outside since i was about 4. I'm not giving her to a shelter or such she's fine outside.

I've known alot of rescues and such and they all say they products in the pet stores are just as good from the vet. Also we already vaccumed and a friend at work gave Troy some shampoo that kills them along with salt that kills flea's. She's had a bath and i checked the next day and she still had flea's on her.

We were intending to keep her outside as a barn cat from the start, its not my cat and i don't want anybody getting hurt the cats 7 and she's set in her ways and she has never been with any cats younger than 4. I use to pet sit her all the time and foster and she attacked 2 of my kittens so i don't want Krizz getting hurt.

I'll think about bringing her back in for good once we get the flea's under control but i won't risk any other animal in my house hold getting flea's. She's only been in my small extra room so we will be containing alot of cleaning in there.

Wait you are going to leave her to perminently live outside just because she has fleas? She needs to be treated for those fleas but meds from a vet. If you leave her outside she will never get rid of them and could eventually die from being infested with fleas. That is really irresponsible to throw her outside just for fleas. All she needs is a bath in Dawn Dish Soap and flea combed and then treated with Advantage. Then she will be fine! It is really not hard to treat. Please do not throw her outside just from fleas. If she stays out that is even more important for you to bath and flea treat her.
