If you were asked to go to a fancy dinner tonight, would you have something in your closet that you could wear?

Heck NO!! I am about as fancy as a tube sock
post #3 of 27
Why yes I do. I could wear my little brown dress that I got for my sisters wedding Sunday. And if it was that fancy as in like prom fancy then i have my prom dress from HS still. I think it still fits!

Yes, I have my dress from Pascha at church. It's a fitted black dress with pink roses on it, and I love it!!

I could go "as is".....I have to dress nice for work, since mine is the 1st face they see when they come in!

I love these questions!!

yes I do have one. a black skirt. A black top.

Yes, I have a LBD that has a thick coat of dust on it, but I'm sure I could brush it off.

That depends. If it were a nice dinner, I have nice slacks and shirts I could wear, If it were something more formal, I THINK I have a dress in there somewhere that might still fit me, and if it is really high class, nope, I'd have to go shopping!
Then of course I'd have to get my nails and toes painted and my hair done too. Gosh it's been awhile since I've been out to a fancy dinner. I've been to fancy liquor shows where I've had to be dressed to the hilt, but not to a nice dinner really.

Yes I have dresses from weddings and high school dances still!
Oh boy, would I! I have a closet full of dresses I've bought on super markdown that I never wear. The sad thing is, I know when I buy them I'll probably never wear them, but I just can't resist the combination of cute dress and low low price.

NOPERS!! I dont have any dressy clothes anymore-I have outgrown all them!! I did a year ago though...hehe.
Yes, but I'd still try to make up a reason to go shopping for something new!
Yes.
I've always kept a 'little black dress' in my wardrobe.
The only difference is that these days, my 'little black dress' isn't that little anymore

Same here
I am NOT a dress person, so the most you'd get me to wear is black dress pants and a nice shirt, so yes! I have those in my closet.... somewhere
post #16 of 27
Nope! I have skirts and tops all of which are casual.

I love how many people still have prom and bridesmaid dresses in their closets I have a LBD and a bridesmaid dress that I was actually able to wear again, to my husband's work christmas party. Pretty unusual I know

Your probably right! I was thinking long boring dress!!
I have a dark green bridesmaid dress I brought from Salvation Army about a year ago for $1 that fits me perfectly.

That would be suitable.

It is much better to go too formal than too informal. You can tone down a formal dress with accessories, but it is hard to tone up clothes.

I have a dress or 2. I know I could wear the dress I wore on my cruise. I'm not sure if the other dress would fit.
How dressy? Little black dress dressy or formal ballgown dressy? In any case I actually have several outfits I could wear. Part of my job is planning fancy dinners and events, so I always have to have suitable clothes.
No....I have outgrown my fancy clothes.

If I was asked this question 2 weeks ago I would have said no, but I just bought a new dress for my bridal shower

For sure. There's always time for shopping..even if the dinner is hours away.
But I do that all the time. I have so so many nice dresses/skirts/dress pants that I've only worn once because I always go shopping for new things everytime an event comes up.

I just bought a new outfit for a wedding about 6 weeks ago so I'm "good to go"
