OK...any other men here?

I found this forum on the weekend - its been a great help for my wife & I while we deal with our problems with Izzy.

I'm a 38 year old professional male married for close to 10 years. I'm a Project Manager for a major hospital in Toronto. My wife & I have no kids (fertility issues) so we do love our cats. I'm also a musician, so maybe the artistic side of me recognizes the suttle beauty in felines

But the question on my mind now is....are there any other men around?

I'm an occasional visitor, but yeah, it's pretty clear this place is run by our better halves.

I actually met my wife on a cat forum -- in particular, the rec.pets.cats section of the old Usenet. We've been married seven years now, with three (now two) cats. So these things have a way of working out.

Moral being yes, this is a great place for single men to meet women!

BTW, I'm also a musician, married w/no kids. Must be something in the cat food.

That explains a lot, Mike. I, too, am married with no kids (at home, anyway), and am a musician, though not currently practicing. My wife plays the piano, though.
Welcome to TCS, Darin. (Assuming that is your name) Not many guys here, but those of us who are here appreciate the benefits of hanging with a great bunch of ladies. Oh, and we like cats, too!

yea, i hear a rumor that i am guy also lol,
38, married no kids(the wife wants, lol i am just not sure i do)
2 cats, and would get a dog if anyone stayed home long enough to be with it.
and trying to talk the wife into getting a monkey.

Oh yea, right now i am in la grange ohio.
i am not a musician sorry to say, the wife is, she loves to play and sing etc.
i much perfer to be out on the motorcycle or playing a video game,

Dude. A MONKEY?! I've wanted one of those forever.
But I do suggest you read up on it as I did. They come with precautions. Enough "red flags" that made me decide to never have one myself.
Our neighbor had 2..And they ended up going to a zoo for beating up his mail carrier. Look into it a tad bit more.

I would love to have a Monkey...I love monkey's (hince my name of my cat). I wouldn't know where to look, and aren't there laws about having a monkey??

maybe in ohio there are laws. But once i get my business visa back we will be moving back to Indonesia(i hope i spelled that right, need sleep) soo oo since i tease the wife about being in the jungle(we live a major city so its not really jungle) i want a monkey.
her brother does magic shows all over southeast asia. and has one that is both pet and in his show. so finding would not be a issue.

I'm not male but did want to wish you a hearty welcome. My husband is a musician as well and is also totally smitten with our Bijou. They even talk to each other. Welcome to the site. This is an excellent learning site - I cannot believe how much I've learned about cats since coming here.

There are some other fellows here as well - Rigel from Mexico and John who has exotic cats are two of our more well-known/been-around-awhile members. I'm sure they'll pop in to say hello to you.

This coming Saturday we've organized a Southern Ontario meet-up of TCS members at East Side Mario's in Mississauga. If you have the opportunity to join us, drop me a PM and I'll give you details. We'd love to meet you.

There would probably be more men here, but they're at the sports/poker/and other websites - with a cat in their lap!

There have been a couple of over the road truckers here who travel with their cats. One helped transfer a kitty to a new home.

Or if you are like my husband....he never gets on the computer/internet....I don't think he has gotten on the internet in probably a year ...but he loves cats (and that is all the matters)

Or you could be like mine and never get off the D&D site! (with a cat in your lap helping you on your quests and stuff! ) Or the beer sites!
But when Twig cries to be picked up, Honey is always willing to do just that. He's smitten with our kitties. Heck Twig even has a pillow in between ours on our new king sized bed. We kept our standard pillows and so we now have three on the bed just for him. The other three cats sleep by mom in various places.
We also have no kids but my hubby isn't a musician, he's a disc golfer, and he works as a liquor store owner.

What is a disc golfer?
