The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
Oh mackenzie good luck!! I didn't realise you'd been offered an interview (so out of the loop
) if it's meant for you then the right thing will happen.
You just need to decide if its a step back in your career or a step forward.
Good luck today

Kenz you will do great. More people means more of a chance to get the job IMO. Because one of them may really like you and get everyone else to decide that you are the one for the job! Hopefully their entry level pays well!
good luck vibes

I hope it pays well too - but thats the thing - when I called her - she asked what I made, and I told her -and then she asked how much LOWER I could go in salary
I told her I couldnt

I dont think its giong to pay very well, I've been having 2nd thoughts about going - I cant afford to make any less, and I'm not looking for an entry level job - I think they might tell me I'm over qualified - ugh, I'm so dissapointed.

Sending many }}}VIBES{{{ that things work out unexpectedly, Mackenzie!

Hopefully, as you've told them that you can't go lower and they've still called you for second interview, they might be able to work something out!

It'll be good experience for you though!

Maybe they are just trying to pay you as little as possible. Maybe they will decide that you are the one for the job and pay you more because you are more qualified.

Don't not go because you think it might not be right for you. Go anyways. You never know what will happen. Maybe they will have another position open that you could slide into!

That is true...once they interview you, they might feel you are more qualified for a higher position....or if they don't have an open one, they can always keep you in mind if something else shows up!!

***The company needs you....you don't need the company...in other words don't settle for a lower salary (unless you really want to leave your current job).....if this doesn't work out then its not meant to be and a better opportunity will arise!!

Thats true - I don't NEED the job - and I can't go lower than what I get paid now - its just the fact that I'm looking for a job that I can grow with, advance into better jobs, ect - I'm just hoping that this isn't going to be a simple entry level job that has no potential of growth.

I'm really nervous for the interview - I don't know much about the company since I just moved to the area - I did a little research last night - but I've never really had a 'formal' interview, so I don't know what to expect them to ask me

I want to cry

Relax. Just remember there are plenty of cat people with you, cheering you on.
Even if it turns out not to be the job for you, it is great you are going on a formal interview. The experience is invaluable and after going through it, you won't be as nervous next time.

Well, they are going to ask questions that relate to the job title. So before you go, think about what you do right now that is similar or will help you in the new position.

Also, you should ask questions about the position. The interviewer's always like it when the person seems interested in learning more about the position.

**Sorry if I am suggesting too much, but I did a lot of research on interviews before I applied at my current job, b/c its very difficult to get into the company I work for.

Hey Kenz, Sorry I just saw this thread..

Don't worry about this interview, you will do great! My job had an interview with the entire office team, and they were all asking me questions. And they were all proffesional. It was scary, but in a situation like that, the smart girl in me took over..and yours will too!
(That was meant as a compliment).

It would suck if they paid less than you make now. That is unacceptable unless after 3 months, you get a raise, and then you make more..A few months at a lower wage would be okay as long as you know more money is coming.

Anyway, good luck with everything. And make sure you remember that they need you ,you don't need them..If its not right for you for whatever reason, then you can move on to find something thats right for you.

It will all work out!

Hey if you want to move here, I can hook you up with an insurance job for sure

Oh your not suggesting too much - I really greatly appreciate it

I'm going to go - I've looked over the job ad they had out - and I meet all the qualifications, although there are a few things I'm not familiar with - so hopefully they would be willing to train me, since its an entry level job

I'd really like to get into the company - I know there is room for growth, I just hope this job allows it.

I was really hoping to get a call back from the Insurance job I applied for, but nothing yet

Just to add too (since i'm sure your in the interview right now) and good friend of mine told me that any time you're looking for a job, ask for a minimum 10% more then what you're currently making. This way it guarantees you a raise and you're not selling yourself short.

Again, good luck!

I don't have the interview til 2PM - its only 10:30AM here now

So I have awhile to wait.... and wait....

I took the afternoon off to prepare, so I won't be so rushed.

I think you made a mistake in telling her your current wage. Preparing you to accept a lower wage offer is older than the hills. You should ask for more than what you're getting now.

I just hate lying - I wanted to be honest, especially since I know she'll be calling my current boss and asking how much I make, and if I lied - that definately wouldn't be something I'd want to have them think - that I'm a liar.... you know?
