Sorry but I had to crack up at the look your mom must have given you when you asked the first signs of pregnancy. I bet she gave a BIG sigh of relief when you explained why you were asking

my brother-in-law's sister has had 5 kids, is pregnant with her 6th and says everytime she gets pregnant she knows because she has IBS- so she stays sick at her stomach. / My sisters had breast tenderness and got very bad hearburn around the same time they got morning sickness/ and they all have said that they "just knew". But i've also heard of some people having very mild if no symptoms at all at first.
Keep us posted! Let us know if you are or aren't preggers

My first signs all three times were more than normal headaches and I was so depressed and found myself crying over everything.

Yep. I knew. That week actually. Just had a feeling.
And honey..If you're pregnant, the at home preg. tests are almost ALWAYS correct. I took one when I knew, and it wasnt seconds it knew too. I swear it could tell I was pregnant when I pulled it out of the bag.
Says wait 3 minutes..YEAH! Right...Before I even pulled it out from under me..it had 2 lines.
I suggest taking it in the morning, but if you're pregnant, it'd tell anytime of the day.
So I bet you're not. Just MO though.
I've actually heard alot of people say they just "knew" too. It's like an instinct or something.

Me too! Mine was pink immediatly. There have been a couple times in the last year I got a PG test because I was late and knew that if it didn't turn pink when the first drop hit it, it was negative.

same here. It's like super fast. 3 minutes...bleh..they lie about that one when it comes to being positive.
I've had to do the same thing a few times this year..

My first sign is the breast tenderness, esp. when first getting in the shower. Of course, morning sickness soon arrives (and stays
). Also, if you examine yourself, you will feel changes that I can describe in the most veterinary terms, but the post may wind up getting moved to IMO forum, for mature audiences.

I wouldn't necessarily say they are almost always right when it comes down to detecting pregnancy, giving a negative result. The tests detect HCG. It is possible that the HCG levels could be too low to detect with the home pregnancy test at this time.
If you suspect you are pregnant I highly encourage you to begin taking prenatal vitamins (you can buy them over the counter), eat healthy, and stay away from alcohol and cigarettes... just to name a few things. I would also make a doctors appointment. The first 8 weeks of pregnancy are the most important for development. You want to do everything right to ensure you have a healthy baby

Please keep us updated!

if u are worried u can go to the dr office and they can give u a blood test that would confirm any doubts how ever most tests are strong enough today to detect perg even from the day of missed period. Good Luck.

Movin' on up!
My first symptom was throwing up everything, that I ate. This set in, even before the missed period.

I agree that you need to see a doctor. There are any number of reasons, for late or missed periods, most of them benign.

My first sign of pregnancy, even before my missed period was nausea. I found out I was pregnant with my first on January 3rd. We had gone to a New Year's Eve party and I had about two drinks developed horrible heartburn and then started trhowing up. Three days later, when I was about 5 days late, I took the test and it came back positive within about 30 seconds. Breast tenderness followed immediately, having to pee alot came next...

Stressing out about possible pregnancy can cause your period to delay. I've had a few scares where I was over a week late mostly because I had worked myself into such a tizzy about the possibility of pregnancy. If you relax, you'll probably start if you are, in fact, not pregnant.

Just a feeling I had, and I was. Then when the dr. confirmed it, I threw up the whole nine months.

I'm so sorry you had a difficult experience and tragic loss of your recent pregnancy. I, too, encourage you to see your Dr to learn the cause of the alteration in your cycle. Please do let us know!

I didn't even know until I was 2 months pregnant. I got pregnant in april, still had TOTM at the beginnning of may and it wasn't until June that I missed my TOTM and went to the doctor for a test. About 3 months in I had the worst morning (well allday) sickness for the rest of the pregnancy, heart burn, frequent peeing, fatigue.
