Personality Trait?

I have a kitten that I found outside, he was in pretty bad health when I found him, but we took him to the vet and fattened him up, although we still got more fattening up to go. This kitten is very affectionate! He loves attention, and purrs when anybody picks him up. He's not like any other cat I have had. So I was wondering if this was a personality trait, or a way of showing his appreciation.

Both.

Ferals are easy to socialize in in the magical weeks 2-7. Afterwards it is still possible - but more difficult and takes more time. And if they grown up they tend to be shy to strangers, although may be nice homecats.

But the window can open wide again: if you take care of the feral/semiferal when shehe is sick. Shehe is helpless and in need of help and love, exactly like a kitten. If you help the feral in severe distress - shehe can be domesticized often surprisingly quick. And you become his mom of course having all the love.

(there is one more way of rather easy way to socialize in shy semiferals: with help of own friendly homecats. But this is a different story).

yea when we first took him in we had 5 other kittens from our cats litter. And two grown cats. He was shy to them though and watched them play at first, but always wanted my attention. He would meow for me to pick him up constantly. I'm not sure if he was a ferral or if somebody decided they didn't want him anymore and dropped him off somewhere. He hates car rides more then any cat I've ever had. So I wonder if that is what happened. But he loves it here. Our Momma kitty adopted him as her own, and he has a brother and sister, that he plays with all the time. And all but one of our adult cats sleep together, it's so cute. I'll put a picture that I took last night up later.
