Under a stack of blueberry waffles.
I saw an ad for "longhair siamese kittens" (I thought siamese were only shorthaired, but I digress), and the person has photos of them up, and calls them sealpoints. I couldn't help but notice that two of them have a LOT of grey in their points, and wonder what sort of points they would be (tortie comes to mind, but I don't think there's grey in tortie points?)

Well, those kittens could be seals. They get darker as they age. My adult SunLee is a chocolate point and she is not quite as dark as those kittens are, now. I have a Seal Point Shane, and now he's really dark, but as a kitten, he was very similar in colour to those kittens.

No way are they seal points - they are BLUE points. And I would not call them longhair siamese either - they look more like pet quality (longer nosed) himalayans or himi crosses. But they are NOT siamese either - not even old fashioned siamese.

Seal points would be much darker and not grey looking. They are dark blue points.

Well I knew they couldn't be Chocolate Points because Chocolate points are really light. SunLee's points on her feet are so light that she just barely beige in colour.

They are probably mixed cats. Cute.
They could be seal points, I think, because they are still young, and points get darker with age.

They look to me like the typical pet quality Himalayan that our newpaper adds are full of, and folks often advertise them as "longhaired Siamese" so buyers will understand the coloring. It's ignorance to be sure, but a very common type of mistake. They are like a nice generic long haired cat, only pointed.
