Do u trim the hair on your cats feet? My Sev has like 2 inch hair on his feet and slides around on the hardwood and marble. I just never gave it much thought until I noticed Bellas was so long on her back foot so I trimmed hers because she has only one leg in the back and I thought it would help her grip.

My oldest is a Norwegian Forest cat, famed for their furry snowshoe paws among other things.
I've never trimmed them.
She's never had a problem on my uncarpetted areas.

Nope. My two Himalayans have never had a problem. But most of my house is carpet.

Around the bend!
My Persians get a lion cut. All the hair cept the feet, legs and little pom on the tail gets shaved off. They haven't had a problem with the tile floors around here.

I don't trim the fur on the paws on any of my long-haired kitties. I just keep an eye on my senior kitty and play with her on the carpet (she has a little bit of arthritis in one knee.)

I have a persian and a himalayan, and I trim the hair on their feet. But one of mine is VERY clumsy and I figure any little bit helps. I think it's a personal choice, based on the cat. Hair grows back, if they or you don't like it and you find it is neither here nor there in helping, you'll only wait a few months for things to be furry again!

my Sunny has the furriest toes i've ever seen but she seems to be fine with it. we have hardwood throughout and she has no problem getting around. the one with the skidding problem is Rikki, and he's a short-hair. he just hasn't figured out when to put the brakes on before he goes crashing into the cupboards. it's really quite funny, he'll go into spaz mode and come ripping down the stairs, through the living room, down the hall, and always, without fail, you hear the THUNK! of him crashing into the cupboards. he's not the crispiest chip in the bag but we love all 15 pounds our baby elephant cat!

HA HA Too funny..my Sev slips with each step a little...doesn't seem to bother him but it's so funny when he freaks out and starts to run and his back feet fail him and he goes flying!! I'm glad they are around to amuse us!!

Two of my cats have extremely long hair. One of them in particular (a huge 16 lb black fluff ball) has very long hair between his lil toes. It's so cute. If he runs he does seem to slide on the tile surfaces. hehehe. Be careful cutting their hair b/c you could easily cut the cat's skin. Believe me, I've done it myself. My poor baby had to get stitches
