Ok I really need some help with what everyone thinks my dog is???
Heinz 57 for sure but I wanted some guesses at what mixed breeds she is.
The shelter said Chih/beagle mix.........then they said beagle/shepard mix......then the vet said Norweigen Elkhound/beagle mix........So my daughter and I have spent hours trying to find puppies that look like our baby and cant find any........lol
So what do you think???

And if you want to give me a guess on age......I know you really have to see her teeth I guess, but they had said 12 weeks but her vet said more like 7 or 8 weeks YET he put 6 weeks on her records from the visit on Wednesday. She is still missing some teeth but shes got quite a bit in there too.
Thanks

Oh, I love those ears!!!!

The tail is curly, and something in the second pic makes me think of a malamute. So maybe a smidege of that.

Ok sorry I forgot to mention size......to me she is very tiny. At the vet she weighed in at 4lbs. Even her paws are small to me not like the big breeds. We were thinking Malamute coloring for sure as well.
When I first saw her I thought shephard.......but the lab never hit me with her.
Thanks everyone.......
Keep the guessing coming...........I need help......lol

Well, let's hope its not a malamute/Chi cross..Can you imagine that breeding??

I do think there is some beagle in that pup but then you never know.
She has the plain ol drop ears of a lab too...and the nose/face looks to me like one of the spitz type dogs (which do have the same tiny faces as Chi's)...
Probably a smattering of everything in there!

Whatever, she is darling....

She's adorable! Did the vet estimate how big she should get?

I think beagle/shepherd [aussie or german maybe?] depending on how big she'll get. If she's going to stay small I say Chihuahua/beagle. Whatever she is, she's adorable!

In the face and build, I'd say Chi/Jack Russel or Chi/Rat Terrier (or other, similarly small, long legged terrier).

I see no beagle and don't let color throw you, lots of breeds are black/tan with a saddle.

Yea I would have never thought beagle to look at her. Her coloring is nothing like any mix of beagle Ive seen. When I first saw her I thought Shepherd but then they said beagle/chih mix and that threw me......lol And when the vet said Norwegian Elkhound........well I saw some of the coloring and pattern but not really.
The vet guessed that she would not be more than 25 to 30lbs........but again they are guessing like the rest of us. I just know her paws are small and her legs long. Shes still just so tiny.......but then again shes a puppy. Im going to ask when she goes in for her shots in 2 weeks what they think again.
Ive enjoyed reading everyone opinions.......
Thank you so much!!!
If anyone else wants to chime in please do.

Oh and is there anyway I can figure out more accurately how old she is? I could count her teeth????
lol
Thanks

Don't laugh too hard

I once had a dog that was Rat Terrier and German Shepard Dog.
I knew both parents.
Unfortunately, the GSD was the dad is this accidental breeding.
Man was their owner mad at himself!

The pups sort of resembled the short legged variety of Jack Russell, except they had slightly heavier bodies.
All were white with lemon yellow splotches.

Awwwwwwww......... can you just see that breeding......poor terrier. lol
I think thats sounds like how the vet is leaning with the build of Dixie. Smaller but on the heavier side like the beagle. I guess only time will tell.......

The poor guy really was beating himself up over it.
The terrier was the family pet, though she was intact for breeding.
He bought her (already trained) for rabbit hunting, said he prefered the rat terrier over the beagles for it.
He had a male RT as well, he had planned on breeding the two and having the whole pack altered and having the pups trained for his hunting pack.

The man, and the GSD were police officers.
He never in a million years thought that his extremely well trained partner would tear into his kennels.

He learned the hard way, never underestimate the alluring power of dog in heat.

She, unfortunately had only three pups, all too big for her and had an emergency c-section and spay.

She's an adorable puppy, that's for sure. I think she's a terrier mix. If she has any German Shepherd in her, it has to be a very finate amount. She's too small, and she doesn't have those big oversized puppy paws. Plus, I don't think she looks like a shepherd, at all. Of course I don't think she really looks Beagle either. She looks like a bunch of different terriers all mixed up in one adorable package, to me.

Terrier?? Well that is not one I had originally thought of but I do see it in the size.
What size normally are puppies from 6 weeks to 8 weeks old?
4lbs is too tiny eh?
