About the adoption.. again. The lady I talked to called me and I guess I had everything all wrong. The other people got Spice because they called before I gave my form, and said they wanted her. So now she's gone..
She said I am approved if I want another kitty, though (I guess that's why they called mom). There is another kitten from the same littler that looks almost just like her, and I'm almost considering taking her, and there's another one that looks similar from another litter that I like.. what do you guys think?

"Sugar"

"Mounds"

I can't believe I'm not getting Spice now..

Thanks you guys.. I really would like to have both, but there's no way mom would spend $160 for two kitties when she thinks $80 is a lot for one.. I might call the lady back and ask her about getting one. I'm just not sure which. I just wanna cry right now.. I was really excited to get Spice..

I know you feel bad....but as soon as you see one of the kitties in person I am sure you will fall in love

I know I will.. I've seen both of the other two, but I don't think I remember seeing Mounds. I do remember Sugar, because I got her confused with Spice a couple times. Maybe I'll go out there tomorrow and see if mom will write a check, and maybe I'll get another kitten.

think of it this way - Spice is now in a forever home and now you can adopt another kitty and give that one a perfect forever home

win win all round

I guess that's a good point. I'll see what I can do.

It might be worthwhile to wait.
I'll have to ask about that.. that's a neat idea. It's hard to tell if mom would say yes.. I don't know if she'd want five kitties around..

Oh heck I wanted you to have her, but then I'm sure you would Love any of them just the same...
and get one
Beings that there all babies it would still be a wonderful new addition, I like them both
but that's your choice I would have to have someone else go in and get one of the two for me, because we wouldn't be eating very good next week if I went in
I think I would want the one with the most color

I think fate is playing a role. I spontaneously said I'd take one or two kittens when a student described the birth of Jamie and his litter mates (her mom was fostering), and stressed that I wanted the "runt" and/or "ugly duckling". What happened was that Jamie (the biggest kitten, with the most attractive markings) decided that he was coming home with me. Whatever will be, will be.

I think that I'll see about getting Sugar.. Spice's littermate. They look a lot alike, so it won't be that much different. I'll see what mom says when she gets home.

You'll be surprised. When I was looking for good homes for my three little foster ones (There were two black and one tuxedo. I couldn't find a home I would trust so I adopted all of them)........Everybody asked for the runt. Everybody wanted a little tuxedo runt cat. People even breed runt cats because they like tiny cats.

I think it is imperative to not just adopt cats others' wouldn't adopt. You should adopt cats you really love.

I'm getting so irritated.. I told mom about the whole Spice thing, and that I'm still approved for another kitty, and that there's one that looks just like her.. but she's all like, "But she's not the one you wanted, so we'll just look for a free one in the paper.." I mean, seriously.. we'll have to get a free one spayed.. and I'm not exactly sure how much that costs.. but you get other things included if you adopt.. and I'd feel better adopting from there and knowing that I'm giving one a good home instead of just getting a free one from someone, where plenty of people are probably getting their kitties. I just hope I'll be able to convince her, because that just seems dumb to me..

Yes, you're already approved...plus "free" cats can be good (behaviour, health, spayed, etc), and some can come with issues that you didn't know about...because it was free.

My five "free" ones costed me $1000 after I was done with spay/neuter, vaccinations, county tags.....etc......etc.......

I still haven't even gotten them microchips!!!

If two kittens are for the price of one each kitten would only cost about $40.

Both Petco and Petsmart offer $150 coupons after each adoption......Let's see......that's $600 worth of coupons that if you cannot use you can still sell on ebay.

This is from my local sheter:

Adoption fee includes: Retail Value
*Free spay or neuter* $100
* First DHLPP or FVRCP shot $ 20
* Worming medication $ 10
* Bordatella vaccination (canines) $ 12
* Coupon for FREE general Physical $ 25
* Coupon for a free bath/grooming $ 35
* Leash (dogs) or cardboard carrier (cats) $ 4
* AVID microchip ID $ 35
* Heartworm test for dogs over 6 months $ 35
* 50% off dog obedience classes
* Coupons for local pet and other stores
Also includes 1 month of free pet health insurance--value up to $500
These services would normally cost over $275!

Why are you in such a hurry to get another kitty, you already have 3, the right one will come along when you least expect it!
