Is he a Siamese or a Balinese?

I just got my baby last night. The woman I bought him from said he was a seal point siamese. I saw his mother and she had longer hair than what is typical (but not Himalayan long) and her tail was definately plumed (don't worry, I didn't pay "purebreed price"). I don't really care which cause I love him to death, and I know it might be too soon to tell but could ya'll guess at it anyway? (this is also an excuse to post pictures of my new baby!)

Thanks everyone! We look forward to the benifits that will surely come from the collected knowledge on this site!

Thanks! He's so well behaved too. Don't get me wrong, when he wants to play, we know he wants to play, but he's ok if we leave him alone for a while too. And he LOOOOOVVEEES to cuddle! Lucky me!

I will post more pics as time goes on to see how he develops. I suppose all kittens are little furballs like this huh? But, of course, I think he's the cutest kitten EVER!!!

Welcome to TCS

I would say that your kitten looks more like a shorthair cat then a longhaired one, he's very cute by the way
I just love meezers

Don't Balinese have longer hair? He looks like a Siamese to me. If you paid anything more then a typical "adoption" fee then you should have received papers or something to confirm his breed. In otherwords if you paid like $50-100+ and didn't receive papers or something then you purchased from someone just lookin to make money so they will tell you it is whatever breed you were interested in or a backyard breeder or some unfortunate thing like that. He is ABSOLUTELY adorable though and he will definately grow into a beautiful cat.

I found him online. The lady I got him from had a blue point male and his mom, a seal point, in the house when we got there. The blue point is mommys son and both had at least 1 1/2 inches of hair and their tails were very bushy. I guess only time will tell, cause the lady I bought him from said they were all siamese, when the mom and older son clearly looked balinese. Needless to say, she wasn't very reputable in retrospect, but I couldn't turn him away... he jumped in my purse! How could I (or my husband) say no???
