What's your remedy after a good evening of crying?

I don't know whats up, but this weekend I've barely kept myself together and then tonight B and I got into a disagreement. My eyes are now all blotchy and red and will probably swell at some point of the night.

I've been splashing cold water on my eyes, but I still just look horrible.
I don't want to go into work tomorrow looking like a fright!

I have heard that putting a chamomile tea bag, dampened in warm or cool water over each lid helps. I know that filling something soft with rice and sticking it in the freezer for a bit, and putting that on your eyes helps. Good old fashioned Visene may help with the redness as well.

I hope things start getting better for you. I'm sending you lots of vibes.

I just eat chocolate..it's a comfort food to me. or a cup of hot cocoa with marshmallows does the trick and makes me relaxed. I hope things start to look up for you. hang in there.

after I cry I usually take a hot shower... then I rub this cream around my eyes... it's a body toning spray by healing garden... and I have another cream that I used on my hands that puts me to sleep... also by healing garden... the scent knocks me out... by the morning, even if I dont feel better, I at least look better...

Cold spoons do the trick for puffy swollen eyes. Stick a couple in the freezer for a bit then relax with them on your eyes till they warm up.

Mostly I'm just seconding others' advice:

hot chocolate, baths, cucumber slices, tea bags, chocolate generally, all work nicely

If you don't wear makeup everyday (but do sometimes) I would recommend wearing some (today, I guess?) I find that really helps.

I hope things get better soon. Sending happy thoughts.

Thanks for the tips!
The one thing I did know is to avoid any and all eyeliner this morning: it always emphasizes the size my eyelids swelled to the previous night.

I hope things do get better too...its really beating in on my relationship right now.

in a pile of open toed shoes!
Frozen Spoons. Wet 2 spoons and put them in the freezer. Give them 15-20 mins to freeze. Then, because they are shaped to fit perfectly into the concave of your eyes, apply to your eyes for however many minutes to reduce the swelling, repeat as necessary... it works, my eyelids get so puffy when I cry, but the spoons do the trick!

MUSIC! it is always a great comforter
I'm having some relationship troubles these days; my hubby has really been using me for a scapegoat. I find that listening to "Attitude" by Information Society and "Walk of Life" by Dire Straits keeps me cheered up; otherwise, I tend to think toxic thoughts that allow my self-esteem to erode and my mood to sour till I forget that my cats & family love me. And then I remember that it's up to me how badly I choose to feel; I usu. decide to cheer up, which isn't easy since my future can be scary... disabled daughter, health problems cropping up, etc.
I hope things are improving for you! If you find any good songs that work, please let me know... I'm listening to a lot of music these days

I'm so sorry you're feeling so down lately. I usually just let my eyes look crappy after a night of crying. But I wanted to offer some hugs and support
