Well, I've been in tornadoes and baseball-sized hail, but not earthquakes or hurricanes. The one that scares me most is earthquakes though.

I was going to say that! LOL Gosh, I don't know what's worse. i don't live in an area where any of these things happen, so I don't know!

i voted for tornados, 'cause that's the one we get down here. i don't care for hail, but it usually isn't life-threatening!

That's part of the reason I live where I do - this close to the mountains we don't get tornados; there's no ocean so no hurricanes; we don't get earthquakes (or earthquacks for that matter
) either or at least not major ones. The only thing we do get is hail, and even then (again because of the proximity of the mountains) we only rarely get bad hail. I
Colorado!

That's the way Michigan is like. As long as you don't mind cold dry winters with the occassional snow storm and hot humid summers with the occassional hail, we don't even see the rest.

Thanks, I needed that! As much as I'm enjoying this, I went ahead and fixed the poll for you!

I voted for earthquakes because I live in earthquake country. At least with hurricanes and tornadoes, there is a warning that they are coming. With earthquakes there ARE no warning. Where I live, the last major quake was 1952, before I was born, but I have felt smaller quakes and felt the devastating Northridge quake. It woke the hubby and me up since we have a waterbed. We didn't know how bad it was until the next morning.

I think tornadoes scare me the most, although a really bad quake would be equally as damaging... I have lived through 1-2 hurricanes when I was younger & lived on Long Island NY. It was very scary as a little girl, we had no power for a week, and alot of the homes were badly damaged. But now that I know what to do for a hurricane (flash lights, batteries, a radio, canned foods, taping windows etc) it doesn't seem that scary, more like inconvenient. But a tornado.... those have frightened me since the days of Oz.

I said earthquakes...They rip apart roadways, and collapse buildings..eeek!

Thankfully I've never been in a natural disaster...whew!

I would say hurricanes. I get really freaked out when I know one is expected to hit my area. We usually only see some high winds and heavy rains from the outer bands but still its enough to scare me. Hurricane Opal hit my area and we were without power for a long time. Yuck!
